The well of San Patrizio is located in Orvieto, in central Italy. It was excavated and built around 1530 at the behest of the pope of the time. Those who, like me, have had the pleasure of visiting it and descending the 54 meters of its height through its spiral staircases, understand what an engineering masterpiece it is!
