This place is called Butte du Lion and it is located in Waterloo, Belgium. Here the last battle of Napoleon Bonaparte was fought against the British and German troops. It was the hardest fought of the Napoleonic wars, and his defeat led him to exile. I took these photos in August 2009, the latest showing the battlefield from the top of the monument
