Hello and happy Friday everyone. Today I will tell you a story: that of the Phatodawgyi pagoda in Mingun, Myanmar. To get there you have to take a slow boat from the city of Mandalay, then once you disembark you are immediately in front of this unfinished wonder! And it wasn't finished because an astrologer claimed that once completed, the king would be dead !! The big crack he sees was caused by an earthquake 2 centuries ago. I assure you that it is a magical place, soon I will also tell you about the surrounding temples

I believe they made a great effort to build this temple, but the result, despite not being completed, is amazing

Ohhh they listened to the astrologer and were they afraid of the death of the king?? He should be a good one then.... Curious story. Nice place even not finished!
It is a truly grandiose structure, although you cannot enter it for these reasons. The king was probably superstitious :) :)

It's great to see photos and read the stories of different places and learn about it when you can't afford to travel.
