Hi. I know it is late but I still cannot sleep and thought of these questions. Did you ever feel that at some point of your life you have nobody to lean on? That you have a lot of friends or loved ones but you feel that you cannot trust them enough to tell them what you really feel or what really bothers you? That you have nobody everytime that you feel low about yourself. I do not want to post these to my social media accounts do I will just post it here.

How Did You Spent Your Quarantine Days? Hey! It is me, Shaz again. Last night I posted a short post about myself cannot finish an article about my experiences during this pandemic times. And finally, I am already done writing this one and I hope that you guys will like it and somehow understand because I still cannot put some of my ideas into words. This is just some of my experiences and learnings during lockdown and quarantine days. As all of you know from my previous article which the "Philippine Nurse" that I am a registered nurse from the said country and I want to share to you guys how my life and my colleagues' lives changes during this hard time. How did you spent your quarantine days? Is your class is still ongoing? Or do you work from home? Or did you took this chance to free your mind from stress? Earlier this year our country was put on a total lockdown and all of us are all on quarantine. Works in different areas stopped also but as a person working in medical field our work does not stop just because a viral pandemic disease arises in this lifetime. Quarantine has started in our city last March, a lot has changed since that day. We do not have access to public vehicles anymore and that makes difficult for us to go to work, good to know that the hospital that I am working provided a vehicle for us. We should always double checked everyone who were coming in the hospital because we never know people who are infected with the virus as well as those who are with travel history or has exposure with positive patients. Some even denies that they are having signs and symptoms with the said disease. We should take a bath before coming in the house even though that we are still tired from work because we are afraid that we, ourselves the healthcare workers are the one spreading the virus in our own home, infecting our family and loved ones. We still need to attend patients with signs and symptoms of the pandemic disease even without the most proper personal protective that we should use and without the hazard pay that should be given to us. I realized that being in this medical field would take courage and bravery just to continue our profession. We are given the free will to let this go but still we did our best to give the quality care that has to be given to our patients. We should be responsible ,vigilant of the place and attentive to these people. We should always be careful of every this that we will do because we never know that we can be the carrier of the virus. Most of all, I know the all of health workers are afraid of what will be the outcome of handling these patients even we know the possibilities of getting ourselves infected with the virus but still we choose to stay with them while they are recovering because we believe that we can all pass this. I hope that people should still stay at home even that some areas in the country has lifted the quarantine because cases in the Philippines are still increasing. And if you guys are needed to be out to buy some necessities, please observe social distancing and proper hand hygiene as well as coughing etiquette and always wear your mask. Thank you for reading this. This article may somehow looks like a rant for some but I guess this is were I can write down how I feel about what is happening right now. Write down your reaction on the comment box. Maybe I will write another article on how we, nurses handle a patient with signs and symptoms of CoVid-19 in our hospital and how we prepare before going to the patients.

Philippine Nurses Hey it is me, Shaz. This will be my first official article that I will publish here on read.cash. This will be somehow base on my own experiences and how I perceived the situation right now of the said noble profession as a registered nurse working in the Philippines. What can you say about nurses? Most especially nurses that came from Philippines? Are they that hardworking, has empathy and passionate to their profession that other countries loves them the most? But how about their own country? Are they being treated right by their own nation? Do they get their benefits and salary right? What is their real situation here? Basically, I am just a novice nurse started her career as a Register Nurese (RN) a year ago. To tell you frankly, it is hard to get hired to a hospital knowing that you just passed a licensure exam with no trainings attended yet. It is hard to find a job suitable for you because First: Getting hired to a public hospital needs so much experiences and somewhat a BACKER. You need someone you personally know from a high position for that person get you the job. Second: It is also hard to get hired to a private hospital because you should have this several trainings attended first before you can be qualified for the position. Well, it also depends on the hospital's policy. The competency is something we cannot get off because there are only few vacancy and there are many of you who are applying to it. When you are hired there are private hospitals that you will put you on probationary level first, this is when you are being supervised by higher position and they are been grading you based on you performances, usually this will took you for three (3) months, if you passed then good for you but if not then you should go and find another hospital. In this phase, your salary usually depends on the hospital policy. It may be below minimum or average wage. Then you passed the probationary level, you are already regularize. In this position is what you call that your are already a staff nurse. You should be benefited well. But as what I said this per hospital policy. There are private hospital that does not really take good care of their staffs. I am actually grateful that I got hired by a good private hospital. So let us go to where you will be meeting a lot and different kinds of patients, watchers, doctors and same as you nurses. Meeting a lot of people and dealing with different attitudes and personalities has been a big challenge in being a nurse. I know we have a much workload since we have just small amount of staff but dealing with these personalities is just I cannot handle much. There are patients who are unreasonable at times, watchers that are too demanding. We have endure all these kind of people for us to have a work. Thankfully most of us are able to handle them and the workload well. There are significant others of patients that are so ungrateful. I know that this our work but they cannot even just be thankful that are still health workers left here in our country even we have just a little salary doing our work in our very best way. That is why most of our nurses here in the Philippines and our healthcare workers opted to work overseas. It is because they are fully compensated and well recognized being hardworking in our profession. I really hope that the people in our country and also our government gives importance not to just to the nurses but also to all healthcare professionals. How about in your country? Are they also treated right? What can you say?
