Menemen Menemen is a Turkish dish made using eggs, peppers, tomatoes and, optionally, onions. It was made by the Cretan Turks who came to the Menemen district of Izmir with exchange for the first time and takes its name from the district. They cut it into two parts with onions and without onions, but I think there is no way to eat without onions. It is onions and salt that give the dish its taste.
