Peer pressure kills Good evening to you all read stars here, it's good to be back and I feel the warm welcome from you all and I'm grateful for that. It's almost the end of the year and a lot of people are hustling so hard, if you leave your house for the city, you would agree with me that everywhere is dense as people are doing some last minute rush to get money to celebrate the new year with family and friends but I don't believe in last minute rush for money because it pressures you to do what you're not meant to do most of the time. Today, my article about peer pressure might sound familiar to some people that watch Mount Zion movies because I just felt that there's a lesson to learn in this particular movie and that would apply to some of us especially at the end of this year. My name is Mike from a very Godly family, when I say Godly, I mean my parents are very consecrated to the word of God, my dad is the pastor of his own church and my mum, the women coordinator of this same church. This was the family I was born into, my parents never gave us a slack in terms of taking us to church everyday and telling us about God's word and everything. To cut the long story short, I attended a church secondary school and it made me look like I was in a cage and I always had this urge to explore but my parents would never allow me attend social events and all but I had this beast in me that was willing to explore and that beast didn't show up until my first year in the university. My parents couldn't afford a Private university and I was sure of this, not because they told me but because I know that if they had the money, they'd like to cage me again in the university but I was admitted into a federal University and my first year in the university was the first time I'd not be with my parents and live with them and I was really free because I could make my choices on my own without being bothered about it, I got so relaxed and forgot about all my parents used to tell me when I was at home, they also call me on phone time to time even when I entered university. In my third year in the university, some people approached me, a cult group actually and they promised me protection and a lot of other things which I really enjoyed, I gave it a thought and joined the cult secretly, my initiation was scheduled and it was a night, my mum still called me that evening and I told her I even had a vigil that night and she prayed for me but that didn't stop me from going for my initiation. I reached there and the process was scary and painful but I later got initiated that night. After my initiation, the boss said I'd undergo my first mission that night and I was surprised what kind of mission he meant because none of those things were told to me, the long and short was that we were to rob a house that night, I tried to decline but I was told that I'll die if I reject them, I was left with no choice than to follow them. We got there successfully and robbed them but at the peak of leaving the house, the police arrived and blew their siren, all my friends ran out and I jumped out after them but I wasn't good at jumping fences, I was left behind and arrested by the police and I spent 10years in prison. Not only did I suffer in prison, I also lost my career and life. Take home Be your parent's Friend, tell them what ever you're passing through in school. Never let your friends influence your decision. Remember the child of whom you are... Thanks for reading ❤️

The family meeting A family doesn't really mean people that a related to you by blood,a family could be a community of people where you derive joy when you meet or see them, it happened that this friend of mine has been inviting me for a fellowship in the university, I have been very reluctant to attend the meeting because I was not a member of the family, so I was actually surprised to get there and be accepted and received with joy, I now felt among as part of the family, we started off with a prayer session which didn't last too long, we prayed about the progress of our country, we prayed about the tests we were to write a day after the meeting, we also prayed in a lot of other things including the growth of our spiritual life which was the best part of the prayer as people went in the Spirit to show the manifestation of God's promises. After the prayers, we had a brief session of discussion, I call it brief because it was too short and entertaining, the first discussion was about the issue of the federal government banning Twitter, we were asked to make our contributions on the topic " As a law abiding Christian, was it right to use VPN to access Twitter even when the government placed a ban on the media platform". A lot of people made contributions and they were really enjoyable to listen to, I was fascinated by the brilliance in answering the questions, most people were of the opinion that it was not a sin because we have the right to freedom of speech while some people countered them that it was the government that gave the right to freedom of speech and they can do it the way they want in the best interest of national security... But I was of the opinion that if the reason behind the ban was not really tangible, it's not a sin to access the app, moreover, the government itself was still using this same medium to make some information clear even when the ban was active. There are some churches that actually just use Twitter to reach their members for online service, in what position does the government stay to batter their relationship with God. Obviously, such people would use VPN, after all, God is greater than the government so it's better to get punished by man than by God. There are even some international news that need to be heard from some international bodies through Twitter and it really caused a lot of damages to some people's home, because they were disconnected in a kind of way. I would like to go on with all their arguments but I feel I should write a debate on the topic itself. The second discussion at the meeting was also controversial but spiritual in a way to, the topic was "if a friend gifts you money, are you meant to pay tithe from such money", it was a really tricky question which I found hard to even answer in my mind not to talk of when the organizer pointed to me to start the discussion, I was tensed because I didn't expect to be called, it was just my first day at the meeting but I had no choice than to answer because all eyes were on me at this point in time. I started by introducing myself to the family and said I don't see any offense in giving our tithe from a gift because it all depends on our relationship with God, we can't impress God with our riches because he's the owner of silver and gold, so I also concluded that we can as well give God more than 10 percent of the income, and it just depends on your commitment with God and I was clapped as I went back to my seat, my explanation killed the discussion that we had to go into the next item which was a word of exhortation which was taken by a mid age man and he also talked about giving God the best of what we have, I was really touched as he went on and on in the preaching, at the end of his preaching, her shared some testimonies to keep our faith a float, which we prayed after for riches and most importantly journey mercies of the founder of the fellowship who is to come to Nigeria by November, we were urged to also give towards the coming of the man of God... After that we had the family meeting song which was my first time of hearing, I wasn't use to it so I just closed with the rythm and ate my mouth for the lyrics and resonated with the frequency of their excitement.

Excursion to pebble excavation spot We got to pebble Excavation spot safely in the afternoon on the day we set out on the journey. We were conducted round the excavation spot by the teacher who took time to explain the significance and the dates of the various ancient carvings and sculptures to us. We enjoyed every bit of our stay there and many hitherto abstract historical artifacts with small information on them were explained to us. However, we had some problems on the road when we were coming back. We departed pebble Excavation spot about 6pm that day and we had the intention of getting back to the school by 9pm since the journey would have not taken us more than three hours. After travelling for about thirty kilometres, we had our first problem. Our school bus had a nailed tyre and it took us about thirty minutes to replace it. When we were done replacing the tyre, we continued the journey. The school driver had to increase the speed of the bus so that we could get to school on time as he had promised that we would get home before half past nine at night. Man proposes but God disposes. As ill luck would have it, after covering another twenty kilometres on the isolated, road, we had another disappointment. This time around, it was engine problem. Earlier on, we had been in the high spirits as the school bus was moving forward at high velocity. But suddenly, the bus started jerking and its speed was reducing until it finally jerked to a halt. Mr. Claudius, the school driver got down, opened the engine compartment and adjusted the wire on the battery. After doing this, he jumped into the driver's seat and tried to start the engine but to no avail. He got down again and after checking other parts of the engine to detect the cause of the breakdown, he told us that the bus could not move from that place unless a mechanic worked on the engine. When we heard this, we became despondent because there was nobody that could help. The students came down from the bus and as it was getting dark, we lost all hope. Suddenly, like a bolt out of the blue we noticed a car corning towards us and our hope rose once again. The car almost passed us before it stopped and reversed to where we were. A man came out of the car and helped us to check the engine. After joining a loose wire under the engine with another, he asked Mr. Claudius to start the engine. Fortunately, the engine roared to life again. We demanded to know the identity of the man and he told us that he is an automobile engineer. He also told us that he is an alumnus of our school and that he felt that he should help us when he saw the name of our school written on the bus. This is how we got over the problems we encountered as we came back from our recent excursion to pebble Excavation spot.

The university of Ibadan appoints her 13th VC For some months now, the university of Ibadan has been being run by an acting vice Chancellor, Prof. Ekanola. He has been running the affairs of the university for a few months due to the incompetency to appoint a vice Chancellor for the university. No fewer than 16 professors from different areas of specialisation and institutions were hustling to emerge as the next vice Chancellor of this prestigious university and that no surprise as the university is the first and best in the history of Nigerian federal universities even though the students do not claim the history as true until they become graduates, the university's graduates pose to be valuable and competent in the job market after passing through the university. The office of the VC is a prestigious one and only one candidate has to be chosen to seat in the office for the next five years, it was reported that the process of electing the new institution's VC in the last few months had been tied with numerous allegations and counter allegations which resulted in strive and misunderstandings between several groups and organisation including the university's electoral committee which has denied them from getting a new VC for a few months now. Below is the list of the past 12 vice Chancellors of the university: Prof. Kenneth Onwuka Dike Prof. Thomas Adeoye Lambo Prof. H. Oritsejolomi-Thomas Prof. Tekena N. Tamuno Prof. Samson O. Olayide Prof. L. Ayo Banjo (Acting) Prof. L. Ayo Banjo Prof. Alien B.O.O. Oyediran Prof. Oladosu A. Ojengbede (Acting) Prof. Omoniyi O. Adewoye Prof. O. O. Olorunsogo (Acting) Prof. Ayodele O. Falase Prof. A.O. Bamiro (Acting) Prof. A. O. Bamiro Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka Prof. Adebola Ekanola(Acting) Inter tribal, Inter religious crises among others came into play as women also stood for those rights and insisted to have a female vice Chancellor, due to the incompetency to select a VC, Professor Babatunde Ekanola of the department of philosophy, faculty of Arts was appointed by the Senate of the university as the acting VC since November last year, his tenure was also extended in June which I guess was part of the reasons why he also entered the race of being the next VC of the university. The last eight candidates which were shortlisted yesterday from the 15 aspirants we had a few weeks before now. The last 8 aspirants were: Professor Adeyinka Aderinto Professor Ekanola Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi Professor Ebenezer Professor Ganiyu Aderounmu Professor Adebowale Professor Babatunde Salako Professor George The winner of the VC's slot was therefore announced at a press conference held shortly after the council has screened the last eight shortlisted candidates as PROFESSOR KAYODE ADEBOWALE!!!🥳🥳🥳. He was until appointment the academic debuty vice Chancellor and has now emerged the 13th vice Chancellor of the university of Ibadan. After announcing Prof Adebowale as the 13th VC, he walked up the stage and said “It is a privilege for me to serve. The Professor Adebowale seated here is not the best out of the candidates. “God just wants me to serve. The University has gone through some challenging times and there are so many things we have learnt there. “I am not the best but God just put me there because there is a work to be done. “With the support of Council, Senate, workers, congregation and all others, we shall move this university to a greater heights.” It is expected that with the appointment of the new VC of the prestigious university, peace and unity would be for once more restored in the university after all the crises and misunderstandings that prolonged the electoral process... Congratulations to Professor Adebowale. Enjoy as you read❤️

My trip to awba dam Little did I know that my university has a very huge body of water hiding in one corner of the university, as I went for my workshop practice last week, I saw from a far the wide spread of water and thought it was just a very small body of water, only for me to come out and find out that it's a very huge body of water. This dam extends a very large surface area and was scary to look at it from a far off talk more of moving close to it, but as more people gathered around the place, I also had to courage to near it even though we could not see the whole spread of water, but we could catch a glimpse of this natural body. I could only imagine what could happen if someone falls into this dam because none of us knew the depth of the water... So on the following Saturday, we decided to go to the dam to have a look at the beautiful water body, we started by walking through the vice Chancellor's lounge, saw a few buildings in the fenced area, he has dogs and security men who take turns in their duty, the house was so big and might and every where was clean and quiet. I was also told that the son of the VC is a student of the university too, that made more sense when I saw a group of my course mates coming out of the building, but that was not where I was going exactly, I and my two friends moved on, we observed old buildings and new ones that are meant for professors in the university. I was not able to take pictures of the houses and other places we went to because it was really getting dark and the road was lonely, so we walked faster and we got to one house that had fleet of cars, dogs chained around the gate and a security man, I guess it's the bursar's house that I've been hearing of, the house really looked loaded, it had solar panels and looked like they'll never suffer power outage, the cars there were highly beautiful and I was surprised to see such cars within the university. So we went on and infact started running because it was getting dark and looked like it'll rain, as we approached the dam, we saw a woman which we greeted and passed to the dam, the dam now looked really beautiful but there were some set of guys by the dam with their car smoking, they looked like yahoo boys, I mean internet fraudsters, their look wasn't good and I doubted if they really were the university students but they weren't my business, I was there to have a view of the dam which was nice and big. As we talked and discussed the reason why the university isn't generating power from this dam, the woman we saw earlier walked up to us to challenge us that why were we by the water side, she said she was the security in charge but I guess that she was just showing power because she couldn't even move near the guys smoking but we pleaded to her that we were also students and we just wanted to check the water body, she allowed us and we started there and enjoyed the calmness and fresh breath in this area, it was silent and serene, we also took pictures by the water side which was the most scary part of the adventure. We were naughty as we took the pictures, one of us was willing to enter the water and take a picture but we were scared of the possibility of meeting a shark in there, beside the water on the others side of the road was a snail which was brought back to the hostel to eat. It was indeed a memorable experience as we headed back to our hostel with sigh of fulfilment, I really wish I could still go there once or twice again in the coming months... And share more memories with my friends and family too... Enjoy as you read... Thanks ❤️

The joor party When a party is about to hit town, it starts with a lot of preparation, a lot of publicity and fundings... The joor party didn't really take time to blow as I just heard about the party a day before the party, to be honest, I didn't have the money for the ticket because I'd have loved to buy the VIP ticket which was ten thousand naira, but my main excuse was that I had two tests at exactly the same time the party was going to hold, even though one of my course mates missed the test because of this party, I won't really say it was a bad idea because he's a very smart kid and can find his way and still have his four points, seeing the pictures of the students that attended the party, I now really wished I went. Featuring at the party were really popular artists that even showed up surprisingly. They include: DJ Kay wise Small Doctor Ruger Toby sheng Zlatan Also there was a popular YouTuber that acts like Jesus in a woman wig The most surprising person that was there yesterday was zlatan because he didn't make any formal statement that he was going to show up, now I feel that I should have just paid the one thousand naira for the regular ticket but I'm not still regretting not going because I was having a bad headache yesterday. The event went on and on as we saw videos and pictures of girls craving to touch these artists, I would say it was really pleasing to watch. The party really pulled up a great crowd as the whole school was deserted and almost all heads were present at the party, what a memorable day to be in the university I thought, these artists performed with joy and no fear that they'd be robbed, maybe because they had hefty bouncers that can just carry any pick pocket away. At a party like this, you can expect people to also come with the intention to steal, a guys phone was stolen and the whereabouts of the phone has not been located yet Maybe because he was still high on weed yesterday. The party was a really cool one to attend though I had a tiring day, I should still have been in attendance as my friends came back to tell the full stories of what really went down at the party, they told me about the joy they derived just by seeing those artists as some of them were able to take pictures with a few of the artists, DJ Kay wise really did a great job at the playing of good music, hype man Toby sheng made students jump off their fit especially the VIP's when their names were mentioned by the hypeman, they all danced and danced and enjoyed themselves. It was evident in the smiling faces of the girls that were in attendance as they strived to have a touch on the celebrities. As these WhatsApp status shows the joy in this young lady that she got to touch Ruger and zlatan, it was obvious that it was really lit and was a success. Smoking of shisha and drinking of drinks was also a norm there as guys took turns on the shisha and puffed smoke in the air with elegance, a lot of them were high and as soon as they got to their hostels, they slept off forgetting to even eat supper... It was a really nice experience you'd have just once in a blue moon on campus It was obvious that the covid 19 prorocols were broken big time as all the students were rowdy and careless about using their nose masks, this is one of the reasons why I didn't end up going too but what's the assurance that someone from there can't bring it to the hostel, we just hope that there won't be any cause to send us home in the coming weeks owing to the fact that covid 19 still exists in the university, even the artists were careless enough so what do you expect of the audience but we spray for God's protection... Thanks for reading ❤️ Hopefully you liked the story, help me out as I get encouragement to write more and even better contents...

A stressful day A bad day doesn't start exactly the day you experience a stressful event, if you've been so observant, it's what should be observed that it's coming. Last week didn't really end well as things weren't really going so well for me in school, I had tests to write, assignments to submit, classes to attend and of all I needed to make money to finance myself in school, as the week went to a close, I hoped that this week would be a blessed one... My prayer wasn't really a waste as where I went yesterday, a family meeting of church members, love was shown to me and I was a new member, I will also write about the experience at the family meeting later but from there I could take that grace calls over effort. I was to have two mighty tests today, instead of me reading, I went to the presence of God to honour him and I was uplifted spiritually. I held into my faith and read a little more to what I have been reading since the beginning of the semester, I was also meant to read yesterday night but the rain began and there was shortage of power supply which made it really hard to read because I was cold and there was no means of reading as my phone was out of battery, I had no choice than to sleep, even when the brought the light in the middle of the night, I could only stand up to plug my phone to gain some power which I'm still using to now, when I woke up fully this morning, I had to read a little and revise what I had read in the second course and not forgetting that I had not really read the first course. I couldn't read for the first course well, I only solved some past questions and watched some YouTube videos. The test was meant to old by 12pm and I also had a practical class by 2pm, how on Earth am I meant to cope with practical after two tests???😭 To my surprise, the first test which I didn't really read for wasn't so easy tho but it wasn't as hard as I expected. I did what I could under 30minutes which was the time frame given and by the way the invigilators came late which agitated me because I wasn't balanced mentally for the test anymore. After the first test, there was no break, we were meant to go immediately to the second test's venue which I did in no time to avoid complaints from the invigilators not forgetting that I had not eaten anything yet 😣 I wrote the second test in hunger, although it was really easy but I was prone to silly mistakes because of the hunger in me but I still thank God for the test. Immediately after the test, my department was meant to take picture for some registration, instead of me to take the picture immediately after the test, I went to my hostel first to take my lab coat and course form to submit but as I left hostel and got to half of my journey, I remembered that I didn't take my course form, I had to come back to take it again trekking everywhere in hunger I didn't have cash on me to pay for the photograph but I still had to get there early, I was receiving calls on calls that the man was leaving so I had to double up, when I got there, I took the picture and someone paid for me which is the best thing that has happened to me yet today, I was already running late for practicals, so I went to the practical and got there late and was punished by deducting my mark and standing for the rest of the practical, it was a bad experience I had today and I don't wish to have it again for the rest of my life because I am really stressed....

Insecticide making Insecticide making Stop Wasting Money On Insecticide: Get Salt, Kerosine And Any Detergent, and Do This. Many have wasted alot of money on insecticide, not knowing that there's also another way through which you can get rid of insects both the ones flying and creeping in your house. What it takes to get them permanently rid of in your house and compound is at your disposal. It has been working, just that many people do not know about it. Many of us make use of Kerosine, same as everyone uses Salt and detergent is in everyone's home because it is one of most used in many families.

Manifesto MANIFESTO OF AJIBOYE DANIEL OREOLUWA, ASPIRANT OF THE OFFICE OF GENERAL SECRETARY UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN STUDENT UNION CHAPTER. I, Ajiboye Daniel vying for the office of GENERAL SECRETARY UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN STUDENT UNION CHAPTER, in addition to the constitutional duties of the UI'SU General Secretary stated in _Article V section 3 of the student union constitution amended in 1998/99 session_, the following are my plans: A. Electronic documentation and Preservation (e-secretariat) The e-secretariat is going to be a website system used to manage union meetings and appointments, and compile various directives and solutions. While the E might stand for *Electronic* , with Ajiboss as your General Secretary, it stands for *Efficient* E archive is the selective, strict and automated information system for e-document storage that guarantees relatability, security, differentiation of access rights and monitoring of document history. If elected, I intend to create an automated system whereby all union executives can frequently be updated or notified on meeting dates, appointments and also store important correspondents and other union documents online for safe keeping, security with limited and restricted access to the public or specific union executives. Asides creating the automated website with personal knowledge of basic applications like Trello or Asana, important union information can however be duplicated; one thing I have learnt from being a Library Archival and Information Science student is multiple duplication of resources to print and non-print format. By print it includes paper and preservation agents included. While non-print include hard drives, flash drives and online archives. if trusted with this position, I will ensure creation of an E- Secretariat and E- archive in a website for accountability, reliability and security of union secretariat. B. Provision of Printer or Duplication means. Upon several enquires discovered when I visited the former General Secretary of the Student Union Unibadan, he gave a brief and remarkable problem he faced during his tenure which included the problem of funding for duplication of Important correspondents and letters due to lack of reliable printer and printing materials in the office of the union. I have ready sponsors willing and available to sponsor the purchase of a new printer in the office of the general secretary. The proposed purchase will be available for use to all students at five Naira per print, these funds will then be used to purchase more printing paper and fund repairs. While as a substitute for printer or photocopier. To save cost of printing and budget, letters can be duplicated and sent via email interaction. Furthermore, it can be used to send important sponsorship messages, correspondents for sponsorship, external and internal agencies alongside union executives. C. Renovation of the reception office During the cause of my research on the office of General Secretary University of Ibadan, I realised the reception room leading to the office of the General Secretary is quite a wreck; leaking roof, bad furniture and dirty room space. On resumption, I plan to firstly in conjunction with the house secretary, renovate the reception leading to the office of the General Secretary and also clean it so it can be more accessible and presentable to other Executive’ visitors, and also house the proposed purchase of printer for students to use. Also I have sponsorship team availed to support this renovation cause. D. Suggestion box After spending close to two years in the university of Ibadan, I realized that all students have their differences and problems they are facing in halls of residence, department and faculty. We all have some sort of complaint, suggestions we would like to tender to the higher university authority but the relationship between the union executives are not as strengthened as it should be due to the banning. I personally will ensure this relationship is strengthened within my constitutional duties by creating a complaint or suggestions box everywhere in school where students can put any form of letter or complaint in any format either letter or short notes. Not all students can openly come out to tender their request, complaints because we are wired differently. I seek to ensure anonymity of all students in tendering their problems, complaints and requests. A committee will be set up to frequently to censor and look into these boxes weekly or monthly to strengthen student union relationship.

Life is an hurdle A man’s character is his fate. Heraclitus Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States (US), said: “Nothing can stop the man with the *right mental attitude* from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the *wrong mental attitude*” As a clergyman, I have watched pitiably how people self-sabotage themselves by seeking spiritual solutions to character-deficit issues. They look around at everybody as suspects for their predicaments when their greatest demons lurks within them - their character. What we often call our destiny is truly our character, and since that character can change, then destiny can be altered. *Character is destiny* . Is prayer actually EVERYTHING? Many would begin to argue back and forth on this intriguing question, but my main purpose of writing this piece is not to get involved in arguments. *_Arguments don’t improve the validity of a ‘truth;’ they only determine how long it would take before you realise it._* Most people believe that we can pray ourselves to success and get away with virtually anything if we become a stickler to some prayer routines. There is no amount of spiritual penance that can substitute for character. Sometimes, you need character, not prayer. Dutch Sheets said: *“Prayer is not a check request asking for things from God; it is a deposit slip- a way of depositing God’s character into our bankrupt souls.”* British writer and politician, Thomas Macaulay (1800-1859), said: “ *The measure of a man’s character is what he would do if he knew he never would be found out.”* I have often said that what would ultimately destroy a man going to high places in life is not really the enemies that are waiting for him there, but the character that followed him there. I want to emphatically underline the fact that this write-up is not meant to trivialise prayers in any way. I have observed that many people take character for granted, while overzealously tuning on into their spiritual mode. We have become so spiritually in tune through prayers that we neglect the place of character and our relationship with people. Many are actually ‘heavenly’ bound, but with no earthly relevance. You can speak with spiritual eloquence, pray in public and maintain a holy appearance, but it is your behavior and character that will actually trigger the manifestation of all that God has for you. *You must learn to treat people with courtesy* . The Shunammite woman must have been praying for a child all through her life. By being hospitable to a man of God, she eventually got her much-awaited miracle. *It wasn’t prayer that opened the door for her; it was her character.* Assuming she wasn’t hospitable, she would have missed a critical miracle. Many times, we pray, fast and bind demons that don’t exist when our real demons are just our greatly flawed character. _Many have insulted people that were divinely placed and orchestrated to help them fulfil their destiny._ Some people are keeping malice with their destiny helpers. Treat people with respect. Treat strangers with courtesy. Never look down on anybody. God can use anyone to change your story. Abigail Van Buren said: “The best index to a person’s character is _how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back.”_ You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. The way we treat people we think can’t help or hurt us, like housekeepers, waiters, and secretaries, tells more about our character than how we treat people we think are important. _How do you treat people?_ One of the most impressive architectural feats and the greatest military defence project in history is the Great Wall of China. In 1987, UNESCO designated the Great Wall a World Heritage site, and a popular controversial claim that emerged in the 20th century holds that it is the only man-made structure that is visible from space. Originally conceived by Emperor Qin Shi Huang (c. 259-210 B.C.) in the 3rd Century B.C. as a means of preventing incursions from Mongolians and barbarian nomads into the Chinese Empire, the wall is one of the most extensive construction projects ever completed. History has it that when the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they made the Great Wall of China; they thought no one could climb it due to its height. During the first 100 years of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice and every time, the hordes of enemy infantry had no need of penetrating or climbing over the wall, because each time, they bribed the guards and came through the doors. The Chinese built the wall, but forgot the character - building of the wall-guards. Though the Great Wall has over the years become a powerful symbol of the country’s enduring strength and spirit, it has actually been a good reminder to the Chinese of the superiority of human character. How many people and homes had been invaded, looted and devasted by the enemy through the bribery of ego, self indulgence, insincerity and unfaithfulness. The scriptures says ." *while men slept, the enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way".* *The Chinese realised much later that the best defence against the enemy is not a fortified wall, but a fortified character. Thus, the building of human character comes before building of anything else*. Prayer is not EVERYTHING! Build relationships, build your family and don’t ever forget that God will always use man. Be mindful of your words and how you speak to people. Work seriously on your character and attitude towards life. I want to say emphatically that *character is not optional;* it is sacrosanct to the future that God has planned for you and your home. No matter where you place prayers, character matters. *The greatest fraud in life is religion without character.* A man without character is recklessly alive. William Shakespeare captured it succinctly when he said: *“The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves* .” Peter Schutz, the former chief executive officer of Porsche said: “ *HIRE CHARACTER; TRAIN SKILLS* .” Lastly, back in the days when Germany was divided, a huge wall separated East and West Berlin. One day, some people in East Berlin took a truck load of garbage and dumped it on the West Berlin side. The people of West Berlin could have done the same thing, but they didn't. Instead they took a truck load of canned foods, bread, milk and other provisions, and neatly stacked it on the East Berlin side. On top of this stack they placed the sign: *“EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"* How very true! You can only give what you have. Be sincere ! What do you have inside of you? Is it *hate* or *love* ? *Violence* or *peace* ? *Death* or *life* ? *Capacity to build* or *capacity to destroy* ? What have you acquired over the years? *Team spirit* or *pull down* architecture ? *"EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"* My note: These words are worth reading over and over; they are worth our mediation. More importantly, they are worth sharing with younger people, specifically, Young Africans.

No longer Does she know? That I'm slipping away, Like rubbery ducks in a bath, A blurry memory in the past, Sometimes I catch her Staring, At me, Perhaps wondering, When I grew old enough to lie, Old enough to hide behind smiles, Airy laughs, When I learned to cover weakness, With jokes and self jabs, To keep her from worrying, To conceal my worrying, She must wonder, How I face the world with such a tiny body, Why I haven't drowned, Why my head still floats, She must wonder, If I have reached the point, Where life shifts from a ride to a chase, Where problems adorn me like a choke necklace, I see it in her eyes that she knows that, When I laugh, I giggle and I speak another lie No longer will her little girl ask, "When I grow older, what will I be?" ©miriel_oye

The weird love. S1e1 The weird love It happened that I fell in love crazily with a girl that didn't know my worth,I kept chasing her for her attention but she never gave me a minute of her life to geta chance. I then thought to myself that "at least, she isn't the only fine babe I'd ever meet". But was time went on, I found out that I couldn't do without her😓, so I decided to go deep into the chase for her attention. Girls on a norm would never snub you if she's alone and you walk up to her, trust me, this girl walked out on me as she saw me approaching. I then started to doubt my capabilities, that if I couldn't just get the attention of a babe that isn't of high spec, how would I get a wife? 😂 but I never stopped the chase, I began to ask for help from Friends and luckily for me, I got her mobile number, messaged her on WhatsApp like a total new stranger, she gave me the vibe I have been looking for in a while, she kept on messaging me as a stranger because I was obviously afraid to tell her who I was, it then happened that she was too curious to know what kind of guy gives her all his attention online even when she hasn't met him, she was overwhelmed by my joviality. so I later decided to tell her who I was and she couldn't resist the fact that she has been enjoying my company, I asked her for us to meet up which she first disagreed but I understood her point as a lady to protect her dignity... she then later asked us to meet up at KFC, I asked my friends for help financially because I was down to do anything to please her, I got full assistance from my friends who also gave me some tips so I wouldn't flop the finishing because I've already gotten her online, I couldn't afford to lose her when I can actually seal a relationship with her. we met up at KFC, made some orders and started talking, I later got to know that she was even more shy than I was, she was just covering all those with the ego that she's the lady there and she has the power to say yes or no... that night was the best night of my life, I kept replaying the scenes of how much we talked and everything she said in my head overnight, I can't really say if that feeling was mutual but if I was a girl, I'd obviously also be thinking so but who cares? I did my part and was sure it went well. I waited all night long did her to come online but she didn't show up, I was tempted to call her but was feeling it'd be weird to call a girl after just a first date so I got an idea to call her and ask her about how she got home, I was sure she got home safely because I ordered an Uber driver to take her home but I needed to be sure why she wasn't online, turned out that she didn't pick my call. so I rested and assumed that she already slept, first thing the next morning was her call making my phone buzz, I was so happy that my eyes cleared almost immediately... I picked the call after like 10 secs of ringing, she then spoke but it wasn't her voice I heard... Watch out for episode 2...
