Mom, is our mind inside our head? This post was triggered by a question my daughter asked over the past few weeks. The question was: “Mother, is our mind in our head?” You can guess, I had a hard time answering. “Both yes and no,” I said, saying that I did not know how to explain this right now, that I could explain it after some research. Here's what I came across while researching and thinking about how to describe it...

When I learned that the human brain is made up of a hundred billion neurons, and that each one of them is in connection with 10-15 thousand neurons, I took a moment to realize the magnitude of these numbers. This is the place to say that one can only come to the brink of understanding what a great power emerges in this connection. As a result of this electrical and chemical interaction, consciousness and self-perception are formed. In order for the human brain to have consciousness and a sense of self, it had to be inside the human body and had to be fully connected with the body. In other words, a brain that is not in the body is just a piece of meat, as you can imagine. In other words, the mind is not just the brain, it is something that exists throughout the body. In fact, some psychologists and philosophers say that the mind extends to the tools we use. At this point, I immediately thought of the relationship we have with our computer, phone, car or appliances we use at home. Could a dynamic be working as mentioned here? Likewise, this can explain the interaction between people. We are all beings who are constantly in a relationship with each other. Therefore, while we can contribute to existence, we can also harm it with our inappropriate attitudes. As a result of the researches, what is understood here is that the connectivity of birds with each other is the same as the connectivity established by the neurons in our brain. The interaction of the mind in life takes place through consciousness. Consciousness is the network of connectivity created by the mind's interaction with life. Therefore, based on this inference, it is deduced that the building block of life is not the atom, but information. In this case, it can be said that what we call life, existence consists of the interlacing of all information codes through connectivity and processing and producing intelligence.

Having learned this knowledge reminded me once again that each of us as individuals has a great responsibility in the formation of life. In the light of this knowledge, we can say that each of us is responsible for the situation the world is going through. There is no difference between a consciousness that fights somewhere in the world, and a consciousness that gets into a fight with a friend because he got a snowball in the face while playing in the snow, or terrorizes at home, and a consciousness that gets into a fight at work. So, isn't it our responsibility to live with the knowledge that we contribute to the intelligence produced by every choice we make for goodness through connectivity, or that we are hindered by a negative-oriented consciousness?
