Will the price/value of cryptocurrency ever 'settle' and stay in one place? Or is it designed to forever fluctuate? I still have a problem accepting a 'currency' that fluctuates up and down so rapidly---it's worse than buying gasoline from day to day. Yes, I understand 'real' 'money' fluctuates somewhat, but that is tied to the overall economy (for the most part). It would take major upheavals in the market for $1 to suddenly be 'worth' 16% less. Maybe I'm missing a point here somewhere...

i dont know if got your point.. but this is my view.. at some point this crypto should be stabilize just like other currencies circulating in the money world..
Nope. I don't think you are missing anything. I am still finding it difficult what to classify crypto as. Is it an asset, a currency, an investment? Maybe it is a little bit of all of these things. Being a guy who has spent a lifetime in financial markets you would think I would have a better grasp on what to make of it. But maybe that's why I don't. Because I can't classify it or compare it to much else. I actually wrote an article for read last night called, "What is the Future of Crypto." I explain some of my thoughts in it, including citing that I do think crypto has a future and there is value in it. It's in the queue behind other planned articles, but I will eventually publish it. The only thing I will say, and it is outside the scope of that article, is that so far I have not seen any convincing argument for crypto against fiat. I mean, they say it is private. So is a lot of my fiat. They say there are low fees for transactions. Most of my fiat transactions have NO fees. I don't know. Maybe I am just not there yet, or I am too old and set in my ways to see the future. But your right. The dollar I have in my pocket MIGHT be worth 98 cents tomorrow or $1.02 the next day. But never 50 cents.
I seem to have a problem with this too. Crypto is so volatile. More volatile than the gasoline you mentioned. Within minutes , you could be worth a couple bucks or less.
