I really do not understand why I spend all this money for a cell/mobile phone simply for the privilege of receiving spam calls (I don't use a phone for internet and I have no desire to, I use my desktop). But sure as anything if I got rid of it one of my siblings would die or another catastrophe of some such proportions would occur and there I am out of contact. Maybe I should get a new landline number when the new area code set to overlay my present area code takes effect. Spammers shouldn't have that programmed yet. I guess I ought to call them (my 'net provider) and find out how much extra my 'net bill would be with phone added.

How many calls do you received daily? Must be really bothersome listening to all those pretend to be government agents asking to connect to your pc.
I don't get near as many as I did a year ago, but I still call 3-4 people criminals every day. That REALLY makes them mad. lol
I have a phone (well, technically three because one of them is faulty and has an issue with calls and messages, the primary reason I have them, but it isn't quite dead yet) for the explicit purpose of me being able to contact other people when the need arises (or if my tame recruitment agency contact has job positions to show me). That's all. Yet, most of the calls I get are spam or rando mouthbreathers whom say nothing, the car dealership calling to remind me my car is long overdue a major service and my insurance company trying to persuade me to insure my personal possessions and thus pay more each month. The annoying thing is that my "blocked" list is full, so I can't even add the asshats after annoying calls. Repeatedly telling them that I'm not interested and requesting to be taken off their call lists has no effect. I relate to your frustration.
I know how irritating that is. I disconnected our landline phone to its cable coz it rings a lot even at night or dawn. Such a disturbance! Even in my cellphone, all incoming calls are barred😂😂😂 I don't care lol
