I had almost given up - my favorite part of spring is when the annual spring migration of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks comes through the area, which usually starts during the last week of April. Well, I've been expecting them since round April 26th, which is (within a day or two either way) when they normally first appear. And I've been waiting - and watching - and waiting - and looking - and nope, nada. Then this morning FINALLY the first traveler dropped in for a bite to eat. YouTube link is a video of it feeding at the bird feeder this morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMT-wFMVv5E

I was starting to think I was going to get bypassed this year - never happened before, but there's always a first time for everything.

badass bird with that beak. We have swallows in europe travelling from Africa. Do you have them too in the US?
We have them travel up from South America
Are they African or European swallows?
I'm not discriminating based on color!
Over the Bridge of Death you go, then!
