Hitting #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and selling 2 million copies means several other people agreed. And subject matter---some pretty heavy political influences shine forth in songs like 'Foreclosure of a Dream' and the title track 'Countdown to Extinction', and the only song I have ever heard about jumping out of an airplane with no parachute, 'High Speed Dirt'.
