Ozzy Osbourne - Diary Of A Madman (1981) The second solo album from the former front man for Black Sabbath, it was also the final studio album guitarist Randy Rhodes played on before his death in a plane crash while touring with Ozzy in 1982. While not as successful as Ozzy's 1st solo album 'Blizzard of Ozz' ('Blizzard' sold 5 million copies vs 3 million for 'Diary') Diary still managed to reach #16 on the US album charts and features one of Ozzy's signature songs 'Flying High Again'. The title track is a timing nightmare, switching back and forth between FIVE different time signatures throughout the song (it begins in 4/4 and then switches to 9/8 and then changes to 7/4 and also throws in a few measures of 6/8 and 8/8 as well, rather complicated). As much as I enjoy Ozzy, I've always been more of a fan of Ozzy-era Black Sabbath than his solo career. That said, I did buy Down To Earth around the time it came out. That album was a huge part of my high school days.
I'd like to get 'No More Tears' on vinyl
Seems like a lot popular music artists die in plane crashes.
