Just had a mouse episode in the house---but I don't have any mice in my house. Evidently Petey THOUGHT I needed mice (or at least A mouse) and brought one he caught out in the yard inside the house with him. Still. Alive. And when Pete would put it down it would try to run away and Pete would catch it again. And again. And again. And AGAIN. I was able to finally persuade Pete to take his toy and play with it back outside.

I have poisoned the mouse in the house but I can't find them where they died.
That's why I don't like poison, they die in the walls and then stink
Petey's log, catdate 04.06.2022: the large kitten failed today's hunting test as well. It seems its aversion to live prey continues, as both I and the testing materials were summarily ejected from the premises. I fear this kitten will never obtain self-sufficiency and engage in its own hunts...
We had a cat that when he would catch a mouse or other small critter, he would bring it inside, then rip it up UNDER OUR BED. I guess it was supposed to be a gift or something like that?
