The 'big' thing spammers do in the USA these days is 'spoof' the number they are calling from so it shows a different number to your caller ID, most normally a phone number that is currently not in use. Of course, the days of physical switchboard operators is almost completely gone, What's needed (and I wish I was a programmer, this would sell) is software that recognizes inactive/unused numbers and refuses to let the call go through the system to reach the person being spammed. Whomever does it, if you want to send me money for the idea, that'd be okay. lol
