Social Media Sites: Advantages

When technology arise Social Media is one of the best that is developed in the world because tru this we can connect to other even if you are on the other side of the world. Social Media is the most used platform in our generation, it is the best way to communicate with others even if you are thousand mile away or even if your on different country. With the use of social media communicating is just easy now unlike before that you need to wait for a month before your message arrived from the other inside of the world, like Mars. What is Social Media? **Social media** is computer-based technology that hasten the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and information through the constructing of virtual *networks* and communities. By design, *social media* is *internet-based* and provides users a quick electronic communication of content. Example of Social Media Facebook Messenger Instagram Twitter Youtube Whatsapp WeChat Skype Viber Line Telegram Reddit There are so many Social Media platform that we can use and so popular today, the list above is the only platform that is familiar to me. This is not just all, we have a lot I just only put the one that is the most used and most popular today. Advantages of Social Media

**Allows us to Communicate fast.** We don't need to wait for a long days just to reach you message to your love ones, because just tru social media like Facebook and Messenger we can communicate with them fast tru chatting you just need a data connection. *"We have a siblings in a far away place, they found a job there to earn and because of that they need to leave us so that they can save money for their future. We miss them yes, but thanks to Social Media site like facebook and messenger we can can call them or video call them if we miss them. That's the power of social media sites, it is very convenient to all of us.*

**Allows us to make new friends**, you can find a friend in any social media. And if you are a introverted kid or a shy type person who is afraid to socialize with others this is an advantage to you because you can chat with anyone without exposing yourself. *I first join on Facebook when I was in high school, my friend is the one who created my account there and I still use it. He's the one who introduce facebook to me. Cellphone with facebook is not a trend that time so we always rent in a computer shop just to open my social media site. I remember we have a clan before, and there I met my 2 friends Rayce and Kris, I call Rayce "Katol" it's tol short for utol, and Kris I call here Kay short for Pukikay, hahaha, then we ask each other social media username and then we chatted and we saw each others baby face. They are all busy now because they have work, but if we want to connect again, they are just "One Chat Away."*

**Connect with old friends and relatives**. Because of social media we can find our long lost friend that we haven' seen for a century, if some was in different places, you can just search them by their name and boom. Aside from connecting with a long lost friend you can also connect again with your relatives that you never ever meet. *This is also one of the best, I have a childhood friend, they were my playmate of "Bahay bahayan," "Lutu lutuan," and the walang kamatayang "Habol habulan" they move to a different place, and I didn't know where they move, but because I have their name, I search it on facebook and voila, I found them, it's just sad that we are not close anymore because they already found a new friend, huhu. Am I the only one here that when you see your close friend is being close to others you will get jealous? I feel that when I found out that they found a new friend, we are not close anymore, they change they become a snobber also we just become friend in facebook but not in real life, sad.* *Another is my relative that I never saw, my Mom move to their hometown she is originally from Romblon, but they move to Mindoro when Ma and Pa got married, and so I never get to see any of my cousin, they are all located in different places that's why. We just reconnect with them tru facebook, we have a Group Chat in Messenger and thanks to that again I get to know my Long Lost Cousins and Aunties and Uncles.*

**Good for Business**. If you have a business, instead of handing a flyers when promoting, you can just advertise it tru social media. You can create a promotional video to encourage all of the social media user to use your product, if one people take a liking of your product they will share it to their friends and colleagues and that's the start of your business and it will boom like a fire crackers, circulating to all of social media sites. *I've seen so many promotional video in facebook, facebook has a billion users thats why its really a good way to promote your business there. You can promote it not just in one country because facebook has a user in many different country, if this reach into them you can even export your product there or you can just bring your business in different countries. Social Media is not just for communicating to others, this can also be the start or a stepping stone to reach your goal in your Business ventures.*

**Encourage people to save lives and promote safety**. In times of crises, posting in social media is one of the best to ask to people to help each other or "Pagbabayanihan." In times of pandemic, promoting safety and precaution to everyone, jist like what is happening today in this pandemic that we are experiencing today. *Encouraging people to save lives not just for a human but also for animals tru social media is a great advantage too, just like when Batangas experience the Taal Volcano eruptions, those owner who leave their pet in their home because they need to leave immediately. They ask some of the organizations to rescue their pet, even if not all of them got rescued but atleast they save lives.* *Another is when a typhoon is about to land, or when this Pandemic arise in evry coutries, they promote the safeness of everyone tru social media by creating a video of how you will avoid any virus that you can get in leaving your home.* There are still more advantages in Social Media, I just didn't put it because this is just base on what I experience when I used it. If theres an advantage of using a social media site, off course there's a disadvantages too. Yes, social media is really good but we should limit and restrict ourselves by using it, because not all of the people in those social media sites is true. I will discuss it in my next article.
