The first two weeks of November I got free from work. I chose November for a potential vacation because IF I would survive the trial period I would have enough time to save some more money for a vacation. Additional to that I would receive my bonus payment in November if I manage to reach the goals the company gave me. I have Japan or the Philippines as a destination on my mind. My Japanese skills are fading away and it's way more expensive than the Philippines. But I'm not sure yet what to do. Anyway... Things at work aren't looking that great for me so I shouldn't dream too much...

Why not! :) I think that isn't even enough to treat yourself as to the challenges you've conquered just to come this far or at this point in your life. May I ask? What do you like most about Japan and the Philippines?
I need to achieve my investing and savings goals for this year before allowing myself to spend money on expensive things like travelling. I just found out about the Philippines in 2021 because of noise. Before that I knew that the Philippines exist but that was it. I'm super interested into experiencing the cultural aspects and the country it self. I still don't have much knowledge about it, but I also started watching videos about walking around and hiking in the Philippines. The country looks so beautiful. For Japan I have way more "knowledge" about the country. I'm super interested into the culture, landscape, architecture and language. I want to travel to Japan for some years now. Also because of the incredible vintage gaming and Pokemon card stores in Tokyo. 🥺
I agree with that. I just thought that you really deserve that dream of yours. A treat for the hardwork! :) So I wish you the best with your investing and saving goals! Ajaaa! Ah, I see. Your noise.cash friends from the Philippines must have given you a nice impression about the country! Also, Japan and Germany have good diplomatic relations. I've learned that the two got a lot of common values as well.
Thank you... Yes. The more I read from people from the Philippines talking about their everday life and posting pictures the more I got curious and interrested. There is actually a big Japanese/German community who is pushing the cultural exchange between both countries. In Düsseldorf where the most Japanese people live they do a "Japan day" (Japantag) where everyone is celebrating the cultural aspects of this country. Last year about 600000 people came to celebtate.
If you want (and if you're comfortable), you can ask me some stuff about the PH. I remember, we had a conversation of your concerns about "hotdog" in the Philippines before. Oh, 600k? That's a lot! I used to know someone who's half German and half Japanese. That's when I started to read about these countries.
The hotdogs! I remember!! Food is something I'm still a little concerned about when thinking about travelling to the Philippines. Especially when it comes to streetfood. Here in Germany everyone who processes and sells food has to follow a strict hygiene concept. The governmental health department will visit restaurants, streetfood stands, etc. and checks if there are any violations. In really bad cases you can even go to jail for up to 5 years if your ingredients are bad or your place doesn't follow a proper hygiene concept. I wonder if there is anything like that in the Philippines or maybe at least a quality control for food. I wouldn't eat any meat or sea food anyway... But I wonder if I can find some delicious food as a vegetarian or vegan person... 🤔 For example in Japan it's so difficult for vegans... 😔
There's Food and Drug Administration. But in reality, I don't think they're that committed to their own quality policy. 🤦 That would probably depend if you're gonna visit a city or a province. (In the PH, one has to consider what city and province could mean when we talk about it: a) Manila, the country's capital, which is deemed as the most urbanized city vs. the other regions/islands/provinces which are more like rural areas, and b.) Now, in provinces, they have their respective provincial capital that is similar to a city life and respective municipalities/towns/barrios that are more like rural areas.) Veggies and fruits in the city are not that tasty. I'm not sure if we share the same thought of what a "delicious food as a vegan" is. As for me, I enjoy fresh veggies cooked at home and freshly picked fruits in the province. I'm sure there are food services here that caters for vegan people! :) See: https://veganpinay.life/vegan-restaurants-in-the-philippines/ In my experience in the city, there's like a shortage of vegetables menu in food service establishments. Not 3 or more choices, unlike in rural areas. So we intentionally go to the market and have it home-cooked. If you go to eateries, I'd recommend you look for pancit bihon guisado and lumpiang gulay because these are the common (and Filipino pride foods) they usually cook other than meat, seafood, and chicken. But I think you will enjoy native Filipino delicacies. Do you like sweets?
Sorry for the late reply... I understand... I feel like it would be the best option to chose a city like Manila because there are some Vegan restaurants... I don't think I can survive only eating fruits. 😬 I think Japan and the Philippines are countries where meat/sea food is in the majority of dishes... 😔 But at least I can eat the vegan burgers at Mc Donalds. 😅😂 I think there is Mc Donalds everywhere in the world.
