What surprised me a bit is that Christmas seems to be a huge event in Japan, while only 1% of the population is Christian. I saw Christmas markets, Christmas decoration, Christmas trees, Christmas music and so on. I realized that Christmas isn't about religion anymore for most people. For example I haven't been to church in like 10 years and on Christmas I don't even think about religion. It's just a time where I meet my family and have some cozy time eating cookies, playing board games and listening to Christmas music.
