Here in Germany there is a tradition and lantern festival in autumn called St Martin. It's a parade where the primary school kids with handcrafted lanterns are following a man on a horse dressed up as St Martin through the streets singing cheerful songs about what he did as a bishop. After that the kids are walking from door to door collecting sweets in exchange for some singing. I like this tradition because it teaches about empathy and awareness of people in need. The parade looks like this: https://youtu.be/aEr0K86Mtd4 My all time favourite Martin's song is "Der Herbststurm" ("The autumn storm"): https://youtu.be/qB0yvTb0L2g It's so cozy... 🍂🍁☁️
