The majority of my stocks portfolio consists of accumulating ETFs (exchange traded index funds) which automatically re-invest the dividends into more stocks to profit from compound interest. But when companies I own direct shares of are paying their dividend it somehow motivates me to keep investing even more. It makes me realize that 24/7 there is someone in this world, at a company I own shares of, working "for me". No matter if I'm sleeping, working or travelling.
