Being Positive in Everyday life
Positivity
It's always a good idea to be positive and stay happy. If everybody is happy and everybody is positive than what could go wrong? As a young girl, my mother would always tell me as she drove me to school, "always be a gentlewoman." Due to what my mother told me, I would always try my best to be a gentlewoman, this includes smiling all the time, saying please and thank you, holding the door and much more. Acting in such ways can make things seem better around you, from how people act in your presence to the overall feeling of being so positive and helpful in others daily lives.
Smiling is crucial, it portrays emotion and puts off an overall sense of good feeling. I have noticed over time that if people are smiling around you it makes you more susceptible to smiling yourself. While walking the halls in school, I would always have a nice smile on my face, people that make eye contact with me would start to smile as well. Seeing people start to mimic my smile brings a good feeling. If a person were walking passed me that didn't have to great of a day and saw me they would start to smile remembering that I'm always smiling. Every time I see my mother frowning I tell her, "Frowning gives you wrinkles" this was to get her to smile more; I tell people to smile more every chance I get. Overall, smiling is a good thing and can up people's moods just by doing that one simple act. A smile can go a long way.
A simple phrase, "Thank you." Can mean all the difference. Saying thank you after someone has done something for you may give that person a sense of importance. Being told thank you after doing a good deed is positive reinforcement. I say thank you every chance I get and I notice that it almost always brings a good response. "Please" is another phrase that should always be used when the opportunity arises. Saying please can make someone feel more obligated to do what is asked. It is also just common courtesy to say please, it is the right thing to do. A real gentleman will always use the two phrases, "Please" and "Thank you."
When someone holds the door for me it does not go unnoticed. Holding the door is a simple act that I appreciate very much. I witness this action all the time being on a college campus. Whenever I hold the door I almost always get a kind response and a smile, which as I said before, can go a long way. Whenever someone holds the door for me I always say thank you which is good for people to hear because it reinforces their act of holding the door.
Remembering what my mom told me before school every day, "Be a gentleman" makes me continue to do all the positive actions I have mentioned in this writing. I continuously smile at everyone around me making them more prone to smile. I continue to say "Please" and "Thank you" every time the words apply and it frequently brings a great response. One of the other many things I do to live up to being a gentlewoman like my mother wants is holding the door for people, this helps show courtesy and is just a good thing to do all around. As one can see, acting like a gentleman can effect affectople around you and it is evident in their actions.
The Health Problems Caused by Back pain on Individuals
Back pain can seem like an inevitable problem associated with old age; however, we have more control over it then it seems. A change in daily activity as well as an increase in awareness can make the difference between a daily discomfort and life with a straight spine.
An absence of mind is the biggest cause of back pain. Individuals go about there daily routine without thinking and putting the mind on auto-pilot is dangerous. Movements do not have to be exaggerated or include an object; simple tasks like doing the dishes can lead to back problems if your back is not ready for it. It is critical to keep the core muscles engaged, and just making a conscious effort to be aware of what is going on will help a ton to eliminate unnecessary back strain throughout the day. Secondly, and this goes along with the first, is to be aware of improper lifting. Lifting heavy objects incorrectly can bend the spine out of shape.
Bend your knees and keep your back straight. Don't bend at your waist. There is a technique when lifting objects. It is imperative to keep the object close to the body, the further away it is, the more strain is placed on the back. Bend at the knees, not at the waist. Never hold something higher than the armpit or lower than the waist. It is also important not to carry anything too heavy! Everyone is a culprit of the third most common way to develop back problems: sitting and more sitting. In our present-day society, we wake up, sit and eat breakfast, sit in a car, sit at work, come home and sit down to watch TV and eat dinner. All the sitting does wear down the discs in the back. The best thing to do is get up and move every twenty to thirty minutes. We are going to sit, so when we do, keep the feet flat on the floor, and keep the spine as straight as possible.
It is needless to say that nobody wants to have back pain, so it is critical to take precautions against it. A major way to decrease the chances of experiencing back problems is to exercise often and keep the back muscles strong. Making sure to stay fit and maintaining a healthy weight is important to give the back the support it needs.
Secondly, to have strong bones, it is necessary to get enough calcium and vitamin D every day. Lastly, by paying attention to posture and avoiding heavy lifting, we are avoiding unnecessary strain on the back muscles and spine. Just by maintaining awareness of weight, diet, and daily activities, we can prevent unnecessary back strain. In the unfortunate event that one does experience the horrors of back pain, he or she may choose to go to chiropractic where the doctor will experiment with three different treatments;
The first is spinal manipulation. This is a type of manual manipulation where the chiropractic uses high-velocity, short lever arm thrust that is applied to abnormal vertebra. The intention is to improve functionality and reduce nerve irritability. It is sometimes referred to as "chiropractic adjustment."
The second method that chiropractors may use is the mobilization technique. Chiropractic mobilization refers to the low-velocity movement and stretching of the muscles and joints to increasetion in these areas.
If all else fails, The Activator Method Chiropractic Technique is used. This is a type of technology that uses a spring-loaded, its hand-held mechanical instrument called an Activator Adjusting Instrument that provides a quick, low-force impulse at particular points. All three methods can be avoided by taking care of ourselves.
Back pain is a serious problem, and it critical to avoid it. By taking care of the back and spinal cord by exercising and maintaining caution around heavy objects, everyone can live a comfortable life without the struggles of an uncomfortable back.

My First Time Cooking
There is an old say in my family. A woman is ready to marry once they learn how to cook clean for there husband. That was the tradition of my mom where she grew up, where the women always clean, cook, and take care of there junior once. But in today society why cook especially if MCd is right around the corner in the city. Where the food we eat can easily be prepared by another person and order through a drive-thru.
My family come from a small town where the tradition was for the men to go farm and cattle in the small town in Mexico and the women will only stay at home. But since we moved to America almost 25 years ago everything changed for the second generation in my family. My mom of course would stay with her old trained and try to use what she learned when she grew up. But of course, it would be different because of everything change. My mom has 7 kids and I was the 4th one, I grew up following my two sisters because my older brother was always getting in trouble with the law and pretty much always bumped heads. At my younger age, I always see my mom teach my sisters how to cook. My mom of course made delicious food and had a very old recipe pass down from generation of her parents and grandparents. I notice when my mom would leave my sisters in charge she prepares us food sometimes mom's special change. Which was sometimes close to what my mom's food tastes like. I had another older sister named Griselda who never liked cooking she would always watch TV or was busy with homework when my mom would try to teach her some of her receipts. I would always hear my mom getting mad yelling and telling my sister to stop being lazy and learn how to cook instead she would make her clean when she did not want to learn. Sometimes my mom would start talking highly about my other cousins of mine who did all the cooking in my aunt's house. My mother would rub that into my sister telling her to look at your cousin she knows how to cook and does all the cleaning for your aunt knowing that she is tired compared to you, you don't know nothing is she better than you?" she would ask her that it's compulsory.
I remember this one time when I saw my mother making my favourite dish which I loved "Tostadas de tinga" They are my favourite meal my mom made. I asked her what is the recipe? I loved it when she made this dish. I notice that my sister Griselda was at the leaving room watching TV like always and my mom was cooking I enjoy watching her looking at her waiting as I would pass by the kitchen asking her is it ready yet? My mom would smile when I asked, she took pride in her cooking. My mom then asked me if you want it to be done come help me shred the cheese needed and began telling me how it goes what are the ingredients needed. to make my favourite dish. She would tell me the precise time the meat needed to be there. she was teaching me how my favourite dish was done. While learning how to do this my mom told me you might as well learned. if you get married your husband will be happy with you, in these days like your sister that don't know how to cook she would make her husband broke buying y'all food going to the restaurant every other day. Here, daughter, she laughed and was happy that someone would learn her dishes.
So that was the first time I had cook beside my mom she would teach me a little bit more of her recipe. Which was very important to her to pass down to her daughters a tradition who was taught by her mother and my grandmom. But in my family, am a daughter that love cooking.
