I did have one occasion in Ft. Lauderdale. We went in there for fleet week and my buddy and I had been out drinking since around 10 am. We were on our way to a place called the Bermuda Triangle (an all night club) on the A1A at around 2 or 3 in the morning. I was driving the rental car. Got pulled over for speeding and the cop took one look at me and asked, "What in the hell are you doing driving?" My buddy was passed out in the seat next to me and I told the cop, "Well, HE can't drive!" The cop asked me to step out and pulled my buddy out and called shore patrol. lol
Wow you got lucky but what happened to shore patrol get thrown in the Brig?
No. They just returned our rental car and got us back to the ship. 😁
I had a crazy Story. No, I was not drinking, but I got an opportunity to go home for the weekend when I was in schooling in Fort Belvoir, Virginia had these two Kuwaiti officers that wanted to go to the beach for the weekend, and they agreed to drop me off at my place in Delaware only a 2 1/2 -3 hour Drive. As we were driving out in the middle of the country, it was getting dark, and they had their headlights off. I told them they needed to put their headlights on. They came back with they don’t work; that was a scary couple hour drive.
