What is Dasani? Tap water. No really. That is what it is. Tap water. I know this because in a prior life I worked for Coca-Cola and was directly in charge of the water production. We open the tap (granted, it is a much bigger tap than your sink) and we suck in the tap water from the municipal water supply just like when you turn your sink on. We put it into a holding tank and then we 'process' it. We run it through a reverse osmosis process, yes, which does remove certain mineral elements and other things. Then we add our 'salts,' which is just potassium chloride and other things to it to give it a 'neutral' flavor. Ozonation is the next step which removes any other things from the water we may not want. But it is not about health. It's about 'flavor.' We want every bottle of Dasani to taste like Dasani. But it is still just tap water. After we have done all of this to it we then run it through the bottler and give the bottle a 'snap' of nitrogen to make the bottle hard. That's really just to keep it from getting stuck in vending machines. It then goes to market, we sell it for a lot of money, everyone is happy. But it is bottled tap water. Now you know. If the bottle says 'purified,' it is tap water in a bottle.
