Working for a paycheck is a very necessary and important part of life. None of us (or at least most of us) are not born into riches. We have to work for everything that we have, and sometimes very hard. But we also need to consider our future. Eventually we want to be able to work less, and have more time to pursue other interests, dreams, and goals. That requires thinking of paychecks differently. It is not what you make. True. Been thinking of leaving the work I have right now. There were changes in my post and I got relegated to a tech support role from a sales role. So no sales role, no commissions which is a big chunk of what I earn. Been applying but no success so far. The 9-5 pays the bill. It is the side hustles that will buid the fortune soon enough.
Well, you DEFINITELY have the right mindset to at least keep the paycheck you have while you are seeking something better. Many people simply guide themselves through blind faith, and that never seems to quite work out so well. Whenever my boss asks me if I am looking for a new job, I always reply with, "I am ALWAYS looking." I usually follow it up with, "If you are concerned I MAY be looking, it's up to you to sweeten the deal to keep me."
That's a nice comeback. It wouldn't work in my case, my bosses are tight wads. Only interested in making themselves rich. Main reason why I want to go.
It is why I so heavily invest my money. So I do not need theirs, and at the same time I can take what I want.
I'm saving up my FU money so I can get out of this job and say FU to all my bosses! Hahahahaha!
It's the best money to have. FU money. :)
Yup, too bad I do not have enough yet. Can't wait to get out of this job. I can always leave but I do not want to go if I do not have a replacement job yet.
This is a solid way of thinking. Never leave a job unless a) you have another one line up or b) you have enough money in the bank to wait until you do.
