Part of the purpose of dividend investing is to generate income. One that I like that I have held for a long period of time is PSEC, Prospect Capital Corporation, which acts primarily as a lender for privately held companies. At a P/E ratio of just a little over 3 times earnings, this is an extremely cheap stock to own. It pays its dividend monthly, and pays a very generous 9.25% yield. If you are looking for a fairly steady monthly income payer, this one is certainly worth a look. Before investing in any company, always be sure to do your own due diligence before making a decision as to whether or not it meets your criteria and investment objectives.
