Tonight it looks like it is going to be Porwest's famous spaghetti for dinner tonight. Okay, okay. It's not exactly famous. But it IS delicious. I never use jar sauce when it comes to my recipe, preferring to sorta kinda make it from scratch. Why sorta kinda? Well, I don't prepare all of the tomato ingredients from scratch, opting to use mostly the canned variety instead. But it is still not from a jar. Thus, the sorta kinda from scratch thing. I share my recipe below, published many moons ago (2016) on another writing site (that sucks by the way, which is why I do not write there anymore). I remember Hubpages. The only thing I can say good about them is that, unlike many other writing sites, they are still around. I've lost lots of articles I wrote for sites that went belly up. The little bit I put on Hubpages is still there, generating zero income.
The zero income part made me laugh. lol But you are right. I have been on many sites in the past, all belly up. Bubblews, Daily Two Cents, Niume, WebAnswers and others. Luckily I kept all of my earnings, tucked them into investments, and still have the money. On HubPages I am stuck at something like $45. I need $50 for a payout. If I can get it I will likely buy some ETH or BCH with it.
Bubblews was a hoot! When they were still paying, (before they went evil and then belly up), you could post your grocery list there and get paid for it. Literature at its finest!
There was a woman there, I forget her name. But she was one who swore up and down that the future was Bubblews, and she literally tried to make a career out of it. I kept telling her that something was flawed with their payout system. It was just too easy, I thought, and I was making way too much money for what I was posting. It just never seemed sustainable. But I always got paid so I kept doing it. It was nothing to make a couple thousand bucks a year there during the hay day.
Did it even last a year? I think I only got three or four months out of it before it stopped paying me, and then a month or two later the site went down.
If I remember right, it was around for about two or three years in all. I generally always got paid. Although they stiffed me for around $75 in the end. I provided a ton of content and activity, and somehow I think they made sure to pay people like me just to keep things going, and stiffed others. Not sure if that were true or not. But I remember reading all of the posts asking where their money was, while mine rolled in like clockwork nearly all the time.
You got in near the beginning of the pyramid, although I think the Bubblews guys were just stupid rather than pure crooks. I can't imagine that they made much money off it.
I agree with the stupid part as well. I think what they were after was trying to create something like a Facebook, but better, and I think they thought the key to their success was eventually being able to take it public and cashing in that way. Their pay system was seriously flawed.
