Lots of hype over the Amazon 20 to 1 stock split announcement, as is almost always the case with certain stock split announcements. Granted, sometimes a stock will see a surge in price per share initially when a stock split occurs. But it eventually returns to its true value once the excitement wears off. Keep in mind that a stock split does not change how much the stock is worth. When the stock split occurs all you have are more shares. Not more money. The value of the stock does not change.
