Ivan S. Graves. Back in the late 90s and into the early 2000s that's one of the pseudonyms I went by. Back then, founder and editor of the very popular FrightNet Online Magazine which started out as a monthly online horror fiction magazine, but eventually shifted to bi-monthly. The magazine featured great works from some great writers of the time. Douglas Clegg, T.M. Wright, Peter Straub, Michael Laimo, J.F. Gonzalez and many others. I was also editor of the horror fiction anthology DARK WHISPERS. I finally ended FrightNet around 2002. It was mainly a matter of not having the time to devote to it, and it was entirely a labor of love. I still miss it though. The process, working with the editorial staff and columnists, as well as the writers themselves of course. I do not have any records of the old magazine. But thanks to an archival site, The Wayback Machine, bits and pieces of it are still out there. I enjoy going back and having a look at what's left from time to time. Many times I have considered going back to it, or another form of it. Mort Castle once told me, "You're going to be one of the greats." I quit too soon for that to have happened and had I stuck to it he may have been on to something. But I will never know. All I have are the memories and a few archived links. I never stopped being Ivan Graves though. And from time to time in horror circles I do pop in.
