Karding Out, Monday In... Me? Meh! And so the weekly routine starts again. We drag ourselves off the weekend bed to meet with Monday. I am, however, cheating on Monday. We had Karding pass by our country to wreak havoc as he passed by. Thankfully, the Sierra Madre stepped up to again lessen the impact of the typhoon. Thankfully, as well, though we had an alarming typhoon signal, I am not aware of any major damage within my area. Praying for the rest of the parts of the provinces and the metro wildly hit by the typhoon for recovery. I just saw bits and pieces of news of Polillo island being ground zero. I was up till a little over 3am or 4am. Well, I had naps from time to time but waking up and touching the wall near the sofa I was sleeping on to check if there is leak going through it. And also looking up the ceiling to check for watermarks. I never imagined this as part of adulting. I am still in a long time adjusting to the reality of "being responsible" with jobs, bills, etcetera. Then pursuing our dreams also has its tandem responsibility that, yes, contributes to the many slashes to our budget bag we have set for ourselves. Anyway, maintenance is definitely costly. However big or small it is that you were trying to maintain. Health is the most costly, relationships next, the path to your dreams next. I don't know. I just made up that hierarchy. How would you rate or arrange the items in your life from top most expensive or costly to least costly? With Karding out, I would have been able to travel back to my folks' place to grab my work laptop and bring it here. It was one of the routines I do. Supposedly, it will have gone through smoothly. But I did not expect Karding to be a plan breaker and I was only able to sleep until 4am and did not expect the sun to peek through. I will only be able to do that planned task later in the day then after the workers I asked to help me fix the house leaks is done with their Monday work. So here I am, staring at Monday and calculating the output Tuesday would have me working for nose sticking to the screen all day. Also celebrating this one time I can take a seat back and re-arrange my thoughts and plans. I will most likely be spending this free time staring at the white bare walls thinking about my life's decisions. The blessings. The woes. And laugh at all the emotions I am humanly feeling and expressing and yet rejoicing and joyful because I know my future is held and secured by God. Oh, wait. Yes. Food. Gotta think of what to eat next. How ya doing? What is Monday like for you? © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content + Midjourney rendered Unless specified otherwise...

Time check... 2:58am. Gosh.. Needed to .... https://read.cash/@Pichi28/scribble-scribble-my-minds-a-wiggle-ce0c17db So i can finally sleep 😂
Scribble scribble my Mind's a-wiggle *She slowly walks out to the porch with a cup of coffee in her hand. She breaths in the morning air and feels the warmth of the rising sun. She smiles and whispers a thankful prayer to God for a great morning and a good rest.* *She walks back to her desk where her typewriter is set by the window where she can see the world outside. She sits down and gently places the coffee cup on the desk.* *She is in full inspiration. She pops in a clean sheet of paper.. and types away...* *She glances every once in a while out the window and types the scenarios in her head. And after an hour, et voila! Another novel to be sent out to publishers.* *She places another blank piece of paper, and types away again. She's got another story to tell.* **How I so wish it is like that for me.** *Instead this is how it really goes for me.* I don't have a writing time. If i have nothing in my head, I do not force myself to write. I read. Anything. And then see if I find myself interested enough to form my own opinion, agree or disagree or if I can picture a different scenario from it. Then check as well if I am interested in typing that thought down... That is one of my typical writing day. *But it could also be...* I toss myself to the right. Nah. Toss myself back to original position. Got to sleep. Have to sleep. Cannot sleep. I was already asleep but I woke up with a thought in my head. I played with the thought some more then felt sleepy and tired. But then I cannot sleep! No. I do not think I want to sleep just yet. Arrgh... Okay. I got to give in. Opens phone browser. Clicks on the read.cash tab, clicks on the burger menu, clicks on Write an Article. Types a lot. Types madly. Spills the brain 🧠 . Spends all the energy. Then either clicks on Save as draft or Publish. Save as draft if I have already published one for the day. Publish if I have not put one up. Or if in my sleepy state, clicked on Publish when I did not mean to just yet (because I probably have something in my draft I wanted to publish first). Then I can go back to sleeping. See even before there was read, there were notes, word documents, if I type them down. But I also grab a pen and a paper and that works, too. Sometimes some things in my head needs to be written down. Treasure! I found another treasure in @emily2u , @fantagira and @bmjc98 's articles. The link from bmjc's article will forever be part of the other browsers in my phone that are eternally open until I am able to write an article about each and every questions there is. https://read.cash/@bmjc98/5-out-of-100-interview-questions-about-writing-b289ed5b And for this one, I am ticking off question number 14! And this one is a sample of what I am describing. Now I can 💤 sleep *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content + Midjourney rendered. Unless specified otherwise...

Konting likom pa at may pambili na ako ng coke 1.5! Haha! I have a lot of change in different bag pockets. Accumulated, you'd think I am a coin collector **sigh** Too heavy to bring around in a purse so gotta find a way to use them in spending. I so wish we have cash in machines for gcash and paymaya that accepts coins.
Before Stickers, Emoticons and GIFs Nostalgia. I found one notebook. Out of a thousand notebooks I keep (because I am a scribbler of short notes, verses, thoughts and stories), I have one that is my "backup" for my phone. You see, way before we have smart phones, android, iphone, etcetera, we have those handsets in 2G. I did not know much about it until I accidentally saw my Dad's company-issued phone when I was looking through his drawers. I saw my classmates bring theirs in school and the game Snake was fun. But I never thought I can have or own a phone. I thought it was one of those things that only my classmates can have because economically, they have spare for those stuff. Same scenario for when I cannot have Archie comic book series, a Tamagochi, a GameBoy, etcetera. I get the chance to experience them by borrowing. Bless the hearts of my unselfish friends. Veering off course a bit there. As I was saying, those phones before there was social media, and when phones came out affordable to most people, people became engrossed with unlimited text messaging. You'd think there is a conversation there but most of the time, they were quotations. Mass messaging. Phones vibrating and alerting because of free sms about to expire soon. But phones then did not have the capacity to store more than 30 messages (the progression was I think 10, then 20 , then 25 then 30). Some have 30 more capacity internally (shared space for sent messages and inbox), but it really was not enough. Eventually you will have to choose which messages have to go. One way I saved those is to write them down. Kind of like a writing practice for me. You'd think one will have a better penmanship then. But no. Just in case it is unreadable, it says, *"An unidentified flying ship landed in our planet 2 weeks ago & they are looking 4 the most gorgeous human being alive! Please.... Don't tell them u know me. I've been hiding!"* It was madness when you think about it. But everyone liked receiving messages. Some are originals others are passed around already. Most are hilarious. Facenook, Twitter and Instagram was not a thing then. So the only entertainment are the games and the SMS you saved to send to everyone else when you have time. Per SMS, we also had limited number of characters allowed hence you have to shorten the words. People later on became creative. Some phones can display four lines per screen. And my, oh, my the graphics that can be created! Maddening effort, yeah? Innovators did a good job in finally being able to put graphics easily. Though the ones made in parentheses, commas, semi colons still has that personal touch to it, having the emoticons and the GIFs and the stickers makes it less taxing. Phones don't get flooded with these type of sms now. Large screens display multi lines now. The fun of pressing the down key to show the next screen and be surprised is no longer applicable. After few more generations I wonder what changes would have taken place that we would be looking back on and say, whoah, we have gone a long way! Now I can retire this notebook. Because I can capture every page and then store it up in cloud. Oh the beauty of technology. Some things kept for a long time brings back a review of milestones. Felt like I opened a time capsule. *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

Happy Friday people! Would you jump into the inviting blue waters ? This was taken way back 2016. Maybe I can write a story about that adventure in Cebu's Kawasan Falls canyoneering. Stay chill peeps! © Pichi28 All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...
Got Gills? Grease? Smell of cooking oil after work? Nah. I don't think I'd want that. That was what we did last summer - work in a burger chain called Mambo Burger. After that experience, though it pays good de niro, I think I have had enough with flipping burgers and wiping tables. Besides, I think I need to go solo this time. So I picked Rose Island Lighthouse. Oddly, only few people are booked in for the summer. Lighter foot falls, lighter the tasks, hence, there is a much-needed alone time by the docks staring at the inviting waters. I can swim in the water, too! Very refreshing. Good thing I brought my fins and my snorkel with me. Oh, the serenity the underwater world brings. In my head I always remember Sebastian's words to Ariel, *Ariel, listen to me* *The human world, it's a mess* *Life under the sea* *Is better than anything they got up there!* And cannot help but agree with the funny, old crab. One time, swimming under the water and aiming direction towards the dock, I noticed a shadow under where the dock is situated. I never gave it attention until looking at it longer made me realize it is an opening and may be a tunnel. There is that eerie feeling brought about the darkness of the opening but there is also that invitation to come check it out. And check it out is what I did. I had to swim fast but cautious. Should the tunnel be longer then I need to be able to return and surface to catch breath. But not too long after swimming fast, the water seemed to become lighter and I realized the water became shallower and then my head surfaces. Then later on, I am standing on ground. Whoah! It was a cave! The tunnel led to a cave. I looked around and saw another tunnel and I walked through it. I mean, why not, right? I am already there. The tunnel led me to a room and in the middle of the room, was a golden medallion. I quicky snatched it and wore it over my head while remembering Ariel's treasure trove. I then walked out of the room, back to the cave and jumped into the water. I suddenly remembered I didn't quite prepare for the swim back and the thought of running out of air made me want to resurface. But on the way up I coughed. I have anticipated the feel of the water coming into my nostrils and also prepared myself for the pain. But I was surprised there was no pain. Matter of fact, I found myself breathing normally. I got excited but then again thought I could be dead already. I looked around to find my body thinking maybe I am already just a spirit floating about and my body is unconscious somewhere. But no it is real! I am breathing normally. I reached out for the medallion in gratitude then I proceeded to get out of there. Truly choosing this for the summer job is way better than the burger chain. I got to swim even more excited everyday. With the medallion , I get to stay undewater longer and explore every single part of the underwater world while humming "Under the Sea". As weeks past, I noticed I have been finding it hard to breathe. I get the relief though while I am in the water. Must be really my happy place. One morning while I was preparing to go to work, I felt my legs itch a bit and then some more. And when I scratch my leg there is a feelign of slight roughness. I also thought i saw my own legs glimmer under the bright sun. I looked in the mirror to see what is itching on the side of my neck . It may be just an allergy. But i saw a slit there. "Have I gotten gills?" I thought. Days progressed and it seems so, scales are showing and the gill slits are opening wider. I have got to find a way to reverse this. Else, I just might become part of Ariel's world! Should I break the medallion? Should I put it back where I took it? What would you do? I am bound to sleep and yet my mind wants to work the keyboard out. As much as I can just spill what ever is crossing mt mind I decided to stretch my imagination with the help of a prompt. That way, a scenario is already given, I just need to write up how the story goes in my head. If you do want to try, you may use ServiceScape. My go to prompt generator was the one @meitanteikudo once recommended. But I wanted to try something else so I googled up more generators. Anyway here's mine... https://www.servicescape.com/writing-prompt-generator *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

I still look forward to "jump page" function for Read. haha.
Let's start making that list... Let's check it twice.... Do you have a list for Christmas presents to give away? I am trying to revive it. But for some reason time and days seemed to have rolled faster and faster each year since I last had a list and really gave out gifts.
Self-Prompt : The Alphabet (A) Since I cannot sleep even though I have progressed three books from my Kindle Paperwhite, let us try to amuse ourselves. "Progressed" meaning I've read few pages forward. I can no longer stick to just one book anymore. At some point when the explanation gets too dragging I jump to my own space and dream. So what do I want to amuse myself with? The ALPHABET. Yes. Yes. It is quite amusing. I do not want to stress myself with any more serious writeups just yet. And I would be needing a different mood if I were to start on the prompts, prompt-like articles I've saved to jump in and join for next time. I could do fiction, but my brain is less imaginative at the moment. So let us do this. This may be a flop or not but what the hell, right? Ain't no harm in trying. Let us look around and see if we can find, from where we are sitting, things that start with the very first letter of the alphabet. Yes, let us start with letter "A". Would you know that as I am typing the whole thing from the start, part of my brain was already scanning the whole room and I cannot find any thing that starts with that letter at all!. Tough! What did I get myself into? From where I am seated (dining area), I can see my parent's room, my room and the living room and the kitchen. This range should give me something. But "A" is not quite a common start of a thing's name after all. You'd think if I am near the kitchen I'd pick APRON. Except that we do not have that in our kitchen. Do you guys still use aprons when you cook? Oh gosh I am blocking out! APPLIANCES would be too generic and covers everything. That is quite sad. Racking my brain now and leaving the kitchen to other areas. ALARM CLOCK. Almost slipped my mind. It has been a while since my dad set up that alarm. It normally just starts busting up some wild music to effectively wake not just us but also the next door neighbor. Ok. This article is getting parked in the Drafts and never getting published. Hahahha. *Hahahaha. Another one pulled up from the draft. Yes, I had it stuck there with the thought of not publishing but I think it is apt now. I stopped at two minutes read time for this because I cannot think of how to go on. I was hoping I can add more things that start with the letter "A" from whereI am seated but doing the ALPHABET for prompt I guess really is ,still, (after months of ignoring this draft and reviewing it now), still hard. Or am I just getting brain-excited that my thinking gets blocked everytime?* *So may I ask you, do you know/see anything from where you are seated that starts with letter "A*". ***Now after this, maybe I can proceed with twisting my brain with the letter "B".*** © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content/Midjourney rendered https://www.midjourney.com/home/ Unless specified otherwise... join me noisin' up here? Kebab rice for lunch ... And getting a little comfortable with noise app. Hehehe . Let's go Wednesday!
He went Poof! I am not changing the title. This one has been in my drafts for too long and it was just that - a title. It was supposed to be a resurrection-related writeup but then after typing in the title, I got busy. So replacing that with some other content.... from questions and some answers. .. Let us pick one from @Amjad_Ali_Waince .... https://read.cash/@Amjad_Ali_Waince/vigilant-questionnaire-my-response-10bf71a4 ***Do you think love makes people change?*** Hmm. Simple answer, yes. It does. So does pain. I think any "added" experience affects us at some point. Love in general does that. Love when sincere it ignites a response from the receiver. But it also needs to be recognized and acknowledged before it gets activated. ***Hearing a well-respected person criticizing your loved one, what would you do?*** The question defines slightly my position relationship with the person who is doing the criticism. So I guess this is a scenario where a wiser or equally wise or someone I acknowledge as wise to be doing the criticism. If that's the case, I'll take the matter with a grain of salt. But then again it could also say that someone who is generally well-respected but not exactly by me starts criticizing someone I love. I can choose to ignore depending on my mood honestly. The people who love the person I love knows the truth about them and no need to flip tables. In another scenario, I may choose to respond respectfully but also in a manner of correcting and clarifying the criticisms spewed out. One thing I know about life and interaction with people, we all do not have the same "experience" with dealing with the same people. I know some people who are hated by one group but loved by another. So if this situation is from a direct conversation then I can learn from that experience and then I will share about my good experiences with the person I love. Not everything needs to be a war. ***What dish you would never be able to refuse?*** I will not be able to say no to Salmon Sashimi (is that valid)? Also, cooked right, I cannot say no to pork in tamarind soup (or *sinigang).* This is not good! My mind is collecting all the food I want to eat I cannot focus on just one! ***What is the most mind blowing piece of art you have ever seen?*** Not gonna lie. ME. Every morning in front of the mirror.. me. Mind-blowing! Haha. ***What is last fear you were able to overcome?*** I cannot remember anymore. I guess jumping off cliffs is still the fear and the excitement I was able to overcome. Coloring my hair may be? Does it count? ***What you prefer going to a concert or hill point?*** A hill point where I can see a concert happening from up there. Lols. Depending on the concert, I'd stay and watch. But I will probably get too tired after. ***What was the last joke that made you laugh?*** I cannot remember either! Ah! Man this is tough! But maybe I can point you to the question about the mind-blowing piece of art I've seen? Lols. Yay done! The title might as well be apt then.. My brain did went poof on me on this one. *And I thought the first question was the hardest question. When it comes to recalling things,* ***THAT*** was tough. *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...
Wouldn't it be fun and calming to be able to go up on the roof one clear-sky night and just look up and marvel....
When the Subconscious Works They say that our subconscious is most alive when we are asleep. It records some things during our waking hours and somehow stores it in. The details we would not have consciously recognize during our awake moments takes flight when our subconscious works. Or some things that were "highlights" if our day gets etched in our subconscious even though we got engrossed about it for just few hours in one day. Yes."They" are my sources. No links. Meaning this statement was passed down from one chismosa to another. And I am one who is too tired at the moment to Google up stuff. So far, I have not heard of anyone (or any other chismosa) who would call out this train of thought. So, I guess it is safe to say, it holds a ranking of good info for now. My recent dream worked like a prompt. It would have been a good story. Wait. I am currently making a story about it, am I not? The word prompts in that story would be: Film camera Street photography I could think a lot of other prompts but these two, as I am unpacking where in the world did my subconscious got to weave such a dream, stood out. The rest of the story, I do not know where, why and how my subconscious thought it fit to be in that short dream. ***Film Camera*** Nope. Not digital. I went retro in this dream. I think this was brought out because I was silently obsessing with the two antique cameras my mom "unearthed" from our stash of our old stuff from the old house. I haven't had a time to look into them for two things : A. Fear of being disappointed if it will no longer work B. Fear of finding out that it still works and then not being able to stop myself from buying a new film, learning to develop them or maybe it will be a trip to Hidalgo, etc. In short, I might get too excited about it, I'd forget I have work to concentrate on and other responsibilities to attend to. Also because sir @Bjorn shared something about him rescuing and old film cam in his article some days back. https://read.cash/@Bjorn/i-rescued-a-disregarded-minolta-x-7a-from-a-street-vendor-a827f5ea Yes, yes... Check his article and thanks to him as well for being part of the window of supporters below. Go check them out, too ***Street photography*** I am thinking maybe because it was my latest activity when I last went out intentionally walking the length of the bayside and madly snapping photos of strangers. Taking my 35mm for a spin but being still shy and conscious, I have to do it real quick. It was a snap, look away and walk away session for me. So most of my shots are not sharp as I want them to be. Note the snap, look away and walk away method as that was also part of the dream. Yes, even that fear of getting "caught" by the subject is part of the dream. It was a good quick walk. Motivation was to not get caught, and not get stuck in the crowd. I picture this place will be filled with a lot of people more and more each weekends specially with Christmas nearing. I have always dreamt of trying film and using it for street photography. It would be a fun challenge to get a good shot at one click without being able to review the shot until I get it developed. So we have *film camera and street photography.* How the dream went... ***The dream...*** The view was that of a cctv filming a street happening. I was walking down the street, towards where the CCTV camera was mounted. I was taking pictures of people around the street. Yes. Using an antique film camera with a viewfinder as any film camera would have (one that my current camera does not have). One guy caught my eye whose registry to the camera was so good, I had to take more shots of him as I was walking. But he caught suspicion that I was aiming shots at him, so he started to call me out and slowly walk towards me as well. I started doing the snap, look away and walk away faster. Just as I was passing by one green gate a kid ran across the road to the other side. A lady came running after the kid calling her out to watch where she is going. And just as she was in the middle of the street another man walked going the same direction I was. The lady, who I seem to recognize as someone from my high school, recognized the man and said, "Hey Jed! How have you been?" The footage of the scenario went into slow motion as I turned around to look at this "Jed" ... "Jed" happens to be an old schoolmate (high school) . We (I and the lady who crossed the street) was a year ahead of Jed's batch. He is one of the head-turners then. But our dear Jed, died years ago. He died from a work accident. And other than he is one of my cadets during CAT days, we have no other form of interactions. *Why in the world would he be part of my dream?* I was spooked slightly. And still thinking about it, I still get goosebumps thinking about it. Why would I dream about some dead acquaintance in the past? *What an early dose of Halloween feels, eh?* *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

Rainy gloomy day today. I don't mind this time. I welcome the coolness it brings. Some gloomy days do make us appreciate everyday normal things. Grateful for the roof over my head and the clothes to keep me warm. Stay healthy people !
Should I Be Scared? Eh? Not really sure how I am going to go about this. But it is Friday and I would like this one to be non-thinking type-up. From the top of your head, what are the scenarios, not things, but happenings are you scared of? No. We are done with "things we are afraid of" and we enumerate like spiders, earthquakes, etcetera. I want happenings. For me, at the moment, for example, *I am scared of eating anything.* But I am hungry. I am scared because at some point last night, I did feel acid reflux. My throat felt the regurgitation of acid coming from my tummy. It burned by throat for a while. I think at the moment my tummy is still fighting probable acid attack and I am afraid to put anything in it that might aggravate it or make my system lose concentration in trying to calm my whole body down. And it is draining. No pain. But fighting. I feel tired. I am scared of gosh gotta think of two more. *I am scared of no longer being able to have work-related travels.* Ah this one is true, blue, raw what-may-happen-reality. As remote works become rampant and because we have proven we can work remotely and give outstanding service still, work travels would be left for major meetings. So I need to position myself in such a way that my lead will see me fit for a major meeting. Hah. How to do that without getting stressed is another story. Work travels are stressing but at the same time liberating. So yes, send me out there please. Haha. I am skipping giving third. Because I want to be kind to myself. Working in Information Technology, streamlining processes that may lead to people losing jobs is part of the harsh reality of progress and applying process improvements. Crazy thing about it is I am working on automating our process. So I am technically working my bottom off so that one day, the robots or the AI or the automated system I am creating can work on its own and, well, no longer need me. I am not scared of that, I am amused. The current scare is the rise of Artificial Intelligence. One thing for AI to replace being able to make financial projections but when it entered the realm of the creatives, that is extra level. Maybe because my current environment is surrounded by creatives. So for while I have resolved, via quick trial and experience with Midjourney, that the painters, the digital artists, etcetera would still have a good future ahead because AI cannot replace the element of the "self" for every creative output it gives out, I have learned about AI permeating the industry related to voice. I no longer have the capacity to try it out. My brain juices do not have the capability of crossing that part of multi media editing. But should AI be as clean in editing background noises, changing voice ranges, etcetera, I fear how that would play out in crime solving. Yeah. Far-fetched I know. But if listening to the background while negotiating is still a real thing, and AI being able to help the criminal to change that, and confuse the listener, then maybe we do have some concern there. But then again, I am yet to look into how far voice AI is progressing. I might be having that fun playful thought with streams of stories in my head. Also, by the way, I also saw an AI when it comes to writing essays and write ups. I wonder how that works. And what it is called. Should I be scared? I don't know. I see no immediate and direct threat for me from both but it will be fun to explore. Some quick Friday thought dump... I Dreamed Once Blue. Red. Blue. Red. They flash. Then later on the siren followed. I watched the ambulance slowly approach the emergency room. It is once again, a night of crazy cases. Chaotic mess. Heightened emotions. Hopeful wails. Victorious sobs. Fear. Fear mixed with excitement. A hell lot of emotions so numbing you thought you'd become less human to be able to tell bad news without dwelling in the pain but then had to switch back to being empathetic. Empathetic and yet unattached. Different face present different scenarios. Hence, a quick shift of moods and aura and facial expression. Adrenaline. I cannot imagine I dreamed one time of becoming part of this team. But of course, back then I imagined things to be calmer. You know. A desk. A chair. A seeking person and then me. Few verbal exchanges. Assessment of pain given a range of 1 to 10. A few more interviews. A scribble on a prescription pad, et voila! Done. Kaching in! But when you are dreaming, you only see one part of the whole picture. When you started thinking of what you want to become, you only see the beautiful. ***But getting to the beauty part, involves hard work and a lot of setting of the mind and re-setting of the mind. Getting molded is a lot of adjustment. Fitting into a mold and shaping your dreams involve more than just knowing. You have to*** *****become********.*** What pulled me back from pursuing that dream was one exam, one realization, one distraction and one application form. I have been priming myself of becoming one, hence, I read books. I read books of my doctor uncle, I have read his rants and raves and review notes which he wrote on the walls of his room. I've read his notes when he leaves it open on his desk while interacting with visitors (us) in the living room. ***One Exam*** Highschool is one cool experience specially when Science becomes studying specific branches. It was a breeze. Until at one point (cannot really remember if it is another subject but most likely not), a lab exam knocked me to my senses. I missed one part of a microscope. I've memorized it and gone over it over and over with my peers and yet when the paper is in with an illustration of a microscope and its parts I had to identify, I blocked on one part. *****One Realization (with a hint of rebellion)***** I counted the years I'd be spending in college just to achieve the dream. I counted the years of until when I'd be repeating in my head the parental wisdom of, "under our roof? Follow our rules". Can't take that for a real long time, yeah? We want to be masters of how we go about our daily things. *****One Distraction***** I am a jack-of-all-trades. I have a vast curiosity and a huge sponge of learning capacity. Downside is, I also easily get uninterested unless it challenges me continuously. I also get engrossed with roles in my head so my interest varies and sways a lot. But hold it there. I am still trying to really recall what was that one distraction when I enumerated it there in the paragraph. So skip this. *****One Application form***** Also in Highschool (it was not K to 12 then), we have career week where we invite professionals from different fields in case some of us are not yet "set" to have that one path in college to *become*. Yeah it did help a lot. It opened more imaginations for me. But then again, that one application form did not need that kind of help to, well, make me decide, right on the spot, to change the path I was going to go. Not even the fact that my dad did take that path, too, but on a different field, had anything to do with the shift. Or maybe it did when I did a quick math of probable expenses. Yes, the tons of things that run through my head in a whole minute. We were handed out college applications forms. And I skimmed, yes, I should not have, through other course options. I was nodding my head in agreement with a seatmate that we were going to take pre-med. One second, two seconds , three seconds, my eyes landed on one course that sounded so cool. Deals with robots (in my head at that time) , possibly, with a lot of tinkering, etcetera. Twenty seconds, Twenty one, twenty two... Then I wrote in: *Electronics and Communications Engineering.* ***Boom! Sayonara hospitals and patients.*** *No robots here though, that would be in Mechanical Engineering and possible Robotics. We can join in, too but we're more on PCBs and other things.* Game over! Regrets? None, really. And oh, hey! I still leave under the roof of my parents every once in a while. But the rules loosened up. Haha! Also, I shifted. So this was not my final me. Just a part. tap tap tap tap on that keyboard! *how did you get to where you are now?* *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content.. created by imagination Unless specified otherwise...

Tough stuff | Moving and Lesson Moving from one place to another is fun! Resetting to new things is fun. That eerie, looming feel of adventure mixed with uncertainty is fun. I liked the idea of moving when I was younger. No wait, I still do. I am, I think, a nomad for real and by heart. But I am also a homebody. I just like seeing and being in new places where I can explore and learn new things. One thing hard about moving places is when you get attached and have formed relationships you do feel comfortable with and have to face the fact that it may no longer be the same after a long period of absence of physical meet-ups. In today's scenario, we call it "face-to-face". I only had one encounter with that and sometimes fate brings us back around and we get to see some things do not *have to "change"*, really. But that is for another story. While moving seems fun, it includes a lot of stresses, too. There is packing up and unpacking, the cost of hauling stuff and calling for haulers, placement of items once you get to the new place. I never had to think about that when I was younger. Parents and family friends are on full swing helping us out it was a breeze - at least from a memory of my child self who was very busy getting excited about new school, new friends, new place, new stench, etcetera. Moving to another place and then you start settling in and then carrying on and then you get to writing your story, chapters and chapters of your life from that place. Included in that is accumulating things. Something about moving from small to big place makes you feel like you have the liberty to fill in all the spaces and gaps. Then headache comes when you had to move again ... ...*and you move from a big place to a smaller nook and then you suddenly look at your new space and wonder where do I place and unpack my past twenty years self?* Moving places taught me that *we should not be holding on tight to stuff that occupies space. Yes. That is pretty much every thing.* We tend to give and reward ourselves with mementos of our achievements and milestones. While that is awesome, sometimes we do too much. We should be, at some point, *shedding off and going forward with lighter load.* Pack in the experiences and learnings. Etch them in your heart, unload the physical evidences and carry on. Sell. Share. Bless. My friend has some clothes he'd go wearing thrice and then giving it away. That way, the clothing is not yet too worn out, he cleans out a space in his closet and gets his clothing chest ready to receive more blessings. Traveling light is not for everyone. Traveling light is stuck in a concept for when you are literally just leisure traveling. But it is also crucial in living life. The more baggages we bring in from the past the less we are able to enjoy fresh new things. Yeah. Easier said than done. Real real tough. *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content... Or Midjourney AI generated. Unless specified otherwise...

Gift? *Some silly dream!* Elena thought to herself and chuckled. She looked into the glass of bourbon she's holding. She gave it a few swirl and enjoyed the sound of the metal ice chinking. She then raised her glass up and whispered a line to herself, *Here's to one more year living life in this hell hole!* Or maybe she did not whisper it. Maybe she muttered it a little too loud. Because Art, the bartender, was now looking at her. She noticed while she tried to sip her drink as Art was wiping the bar on the other end. "Are you practicing for a part time job as an actress, Elena? You are acting drunk but you just got your drink." Art pretty much knows her. She frequented this bar owned by Art for like since she moved out of their hometown. Wait. That was just last year. She likes the neighborhood that minds its own business save for neighbors you have come to form some sort of friendship with. Her apartment is just two floors up this same building where the bar is. The bar usually buzzes with a lot of patrons during weekends. Tonight, however, is a quiet Tuesday night. She was off her work by 3:00 p.m. She decided to take a nap right after. Supposedly it's her birthday. Normal people would be rounding up their friends celebrate this day. Or some gets kidnapped by their great friends to be treated out and to be celebrated. But definitely not Elena. She stopped celebrating birthdays since her 18th. Wait. That was just a year ago. It was on her 18th that she somehow had a dream, too. She was talking to her grandma - sweet, sweet grandma. In the dream grandma told her that she would be a " great somebody someday". And that together with that somehow "prophecy" she would be "wise in dealing with people". Farther down the detail of these supposedly blessing from her grandmother given to her in a dream on her birthday last year , her grandmother told her that she would be "seeing or learning a lot of things about people". It was vague. Her grandmother knows she hates people. She does not like "knowing" about people. But it was that time as well that everything went even more side ways for her. Somehow after she woke up from that dream she hears two things from one person. - the lie and the truth. It was maddening. And she thought she got herself stuck in some virtual reality game and that she dozed off after playing for a long time and that this is just a dream. But, no. She pinched herself too many times and already asked her younger brother to give her a slap in the face and all those hurt like crap but she is still hearing everything - the lie people tell and the truth. It is like the person she is focusing on blurs into two persons engaged in one conversation. One responds truthfully and the other responds "in the best way possible to not get into further argument". It was hell for her. But she managed to adjust when she moved out. You know, the truth and the lies won't bother you much if it does not come from people you know - your blood, your kin, your friends you grew up with. The only way to go is to move away from them. The sickening spell or gift seems to be ineffective if she is talking to people on the phone, though. So keeping in touch with old ties is easy. She tried to get a job but that gift bothers her. It was tough to manage conversations that go favorable for both truths or both lies. It is like she is minute by minute handed over a plate of sudden obligation to either side on the truth or side on the lie. Most of which, both, has moral implications : save a marriage, save a life, save a company from going bankrupt, saving someone from losing their job, etcetera. So she decided to just stay at home and carry on with gaming as she does earn huge from it anyway. This day, her dream was another conversation with sweet, sweet late grandmother. Vague still. Actually they were the same words. Eerily very similar. Except this time, she sees every people with a sort of smoke on their outlines. She scanned the streets before coming inside the bar and yep everyone is enveloped with some sort of cloud of smoke. Flickering colors of white and black. She thought, great! Now what? Do I look for people who only sizzles with white smoke? But then she realized, no one stays emitting white smoke. No one stays emitting black smoke. Everyone flickers and shifts. Her headache was massive before she went inside the bar and propped herself on the stool. She might as well be hard drunk even with no alcohol in her system yet. She leaned on the lie and told Art, "I just got called in for an audition." Why she did it, she does not know. Pretending still to be drunk and maintaining character, she repeated herself. *Here's to one more year living life in this hell hole!* She added more drunk slur on that one. She watched as Art's flickering smoke move around the bar. He faced her again this time with a cupcake lit with a sparkler. He then sets it in front of Elena. *Happy birthday, silly Elena!* He said. Elena stared at the cake. But her mind was not on the cake. It was the smoke Art emitted when he greeted her. It was black. An eerie feel of insincerity. And she did hear "die" instead of "day" after the word "birth". She shivered. Downed the bourbon in one swig. Steadied herself as she felt the liquid go down her throat. Stood up. Slammed her bill on the bar. Gave her thanks to Art. Took the cake. And against the flow of black smoke-emtting creatures she slowly walked to the entrance of the apartments throwing the cake in the trashcan along the way and went up to her floor. She buried herself in her pillows and blankets. Prayed for sleep to come and hoping to get to talk to her grandma again. *So, what's smoking?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... Ordinary Monday | Grateful as Always Sipping my night cup of coffee. Except that it is not "nighttime" anymore and it is already a Tuesday morning. I am still staring at something I am tweaking and running for this week's crunch time. That and I am yet to settle down my thoughts, my psyche, and my emotions. My day started early. I drove to the house I am having my friends rent. They reported a leak and I wanted to show it to someone I know who can fix leaks. Visiting the place would also mean staying for few days with my couple friends. Which is fun. We have planned to stay in a place where each of our houses would just be next to each other so we can be neighbors and workmates at the same time. Comfortable company. Like they said, it is not about how long you've known your friends but it is how deep and how well you can connect to each other's craziness and ideals. Normally, when I stay we eat dinner once outside. But being busy and all, we decided to stay and rummage through my stash and cook some. At least we would not have to think of where and what to eat. We do not have to drive out. At least staying home, it will be easy to relax after. We ended up looking like we're having a party for having a lot to eat. The pizza I ordered for snack arrived late so that one goes as snack/dinner and then dinner proper after an hour. Then NETFLIX marathon. I have grown to like mages and sorcery, magic , and etcetera. That I quickly liked and got engrossed with The Alchemy of souls. So that is pretty much a wrap up of Grateful Mondays. If i were to list it down, things I am grateful to God for for today, some would go: Grateful for waking up in good health Grateful for the safe ride and that I did not encounter much traffic Grateful for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the side nibbles we had while working Grateful for work Grateful for coffee Grateful for friends/company I can be comfortable with Grateful for access to entertainment ... And now.. grateful for lying down on a bed and getting a rest in prep for next day's cycle. How is your ordinary day and what are the things you are grateful for? Thank you sponsors for showering me with your blessings despite the market tilt and tumble. May your heart/s be blessed with joy each and every day! Would have slipped in the fiction waiting in queue but then again that can wait. *What's your story?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... Brain Thing The brain is an awesome part of our body. Heck, the way we were created is extremely intricate and detailed that it is a whole lot of awesome system working day and night in there. The brain is just one part of how amazing we were physically brought into this world and eventually developed into thinking beings. Our body, because of paradise lost, was corrupted, though. Hence, we have some "part of life" we call wear and tear. Some are somehow amusing and some are a curiosity. An amusing curiosity tickled my brain today. Is forgetfulness a brain wear and tear thing? Or a habit thing? But then habits did start from the brain, right? I struggled a while ago. An old couple sat on the table in the restaurant next to us. The wife got there first and the husband followed. While the husband was going to the table I began to feel like I know the couple. And I have a feeling that they, too, have this gut feeling that they know me somehow. There were instances during their conversation and the conversation I was having with my parents and our conversation with our respective waiters that my eyes will catch the eye of the husband since he is diagonally in my right peripheral vision and side. So the feeling that I know the couple got stronger each time. It is like the guy was also in the brink of asking a question but also hesitates. I sent a message to my college constants' group message and told them I have a feeling the couple seated next to our table is her aunt and uncle. I have such bad registry for people I've met before and then never got to spend time with in person for a long time. This can happen even with people from my elementary days. Seriously. I am one bad at names and worse with faces unless a "he" remarkably took a spot in the admiration-slash-attractive slot of my brain. The names I am really bad with it. Everyone has a secret nickname in my head so I can tap into a memory of interaction. Different time zones took a while for my friend to get back to me. She replied when I already got home and already resolved the whole ordeal I was trying to take a selfie with the said couple inside the frame but that is also one thing I am bad at : taking selfies. After a while, I knew the side glances that get caught will eventually lead to a conversation. They are that friendly, I guess. Or was it me just being fidgety and paranoid? I was making calculations of the future conversation with my friend had it been that the couple really was her relatives and I never even tried to say "Hi". Then again, it would not be a big deal considering it has been a long while since I saw tita and tito. But I cannot just push it away. I eventually asked them to confirm. Worst case scenario I could be wrong. Embarrassing? Yes. And maybe even probable embarrassment would be them telling me I am wrong and then reintroducing themselves because we DO know each other except that they have better memory of when and where we met. That is a lot of overthinking in a span of few seconds after I initiated the conversation which I realized I cannot back pedal from. Thankfully they are who I knew them to be. That was one pat on the back for me - the type who might make things socially awkward if I am approached by someone who knows me and my face shows no sign of same level enthusiasm let alone recognition. Another thing I am bad at: pretending "at least". I somehow wonder if my case is similar to one having a case of Prosopagnosia or face blindness. Or a slice of Prosopagnosia and then a slice of something else. I came across the word while reading Holding Up The Universe. Then again encountered it with the series I was watching a while ago : My Holo Love. Took me back to that scenario and my reality of not being able to remember. No worries. A bit of quick research showed face blindness manifests worse than my case. Since that includes not recognizing even your family's faces. That sounds sad. If that's the case then I guess it is good to be aware about such conditions. We may not know if we come across people who struggle with the same. ... I do see people's faces as blurry until there is an interaction with me. Or unless I find it necessary to socialize. ... Just a musing... © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *all images in this entry was created* *via AI* *(Midjourney). Time to Write | Random Woke up today with the sun shining on my face. I forgot to prep the curtains so that it will cover that part where the sun peeps thru at around 9am-ish in the morning these days. It is a good wake up tool, though. With that, I forgot what I was supposedly dreaming about. I am sure and grateful it was not about work. /imagine bedsheet covers face, morning sun through the window curtains shadows realistic photography dreamy render Weather is funny these days. I think it has been for this week, right? The weather switch is quicker. I think the glitch that started 2020 is still ongoing. And most likely a lot of weird and weirder things will happen. Some amusing a lot annoying. I intentionally did not turn the fan on last night. Because when I slept, it was already cold. The breeze coming thru one of my open windows was chilly and it was a good breeze bringing the spell of the sandman with it. So when I woke up, it was sunny and hot and breezeless. Which is okay, too as I intended to get a little sweaty before I hit the bathroom. That way, I will enjoy the cool water. That plan went well. After a few minutes of pleading with the sun to give me a series of five more minutes of sleep, I sat up, frantically searched for my phone, and was sweating while scrolling thru messages and notifications. I opted to order in a waffle for breakfast. I started to brew the coffee and waited for the brunch and little after that brunch arrived and my first intake of food, the weather turned sour and it started to pour heavy! I was planning to do weekend laundry as I was pushing that activity back this whole week. I can do mid week wash but I was too lazy to sneak in that task in between my other tasks. Come Saturday and this is what we get. So I am foreseeing a lazy afternoon ahead. I was supposed to go some place and meet some people. Non-obligatory but rather a self-prompted for my well-being but I guess weather says, "you're still fine, go back to bed". So we're staying in. And nope you can't go biking either. The only one "must" task left is the grocery. So let's wait out for this wicked weather to calm down and do that thing. I will be taking the seniors (my parents) with me so they can go out, too. Not that they don't go out. And most likely, I will be maximizing this lazy time doing a lot of learning and writing. I will be continuing my online classes in UDemy. So I can progress and then maybe get a certification or something. Also, it is rather time to catch up on a lot of writing in read. So maybe I will stuff that draft with a lot of random things. Also renewing of sponsorships. But that has to wait since I rolled in my earnings even before August ended. Now when you think about it, it is suddenly feeling like it is *NOT* going to be a lazy day after all. I also am thinking of collecting videos and photos of August and putting them in one reel for Taylor's song August. *How are you spending your rainy Saturday today?* *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... Doing Half a Set of Q's Let us sneak in a few questions to answer while I wait for whatever I am supposed to really be doing to be done. I happen to have saved some articles of other co-read writers and it is about time to do my take on the questions. Something light and easy for a cool breezy aftie, eh? It is still gloomy today here. (*at least when I started this one. seems to be sunny now that I revisited this article*). Though it started sunny. I thought it would stay sunny whole day. So this one's taken from Olasquare's writeup from 2 months ago. Yes. I saved articles for that long. Imagine the list in my bookmark. https://read.cash/@Olasquare/more-questions-81f9b744 So let's see... **From your childhood, are there experiences that stand out?** https://read.cash/@Olasquare/more-questions-abd7d02f#from-your-childhood-are-there-experiences-that-stand-out The awesome part of my childhood is it was when the neighborhood is a lot safer. Parents can trust their neighbors to treat their kids as one of their own. So the streets were not as mean as they are today. There is the fact that these days, it is super hot outside unlike before. The best part of that is that we all get to play outside after sleepign in the afternoon. The streets then have kids playing around (and fighting, too). Summer is the best because everyone is on school break. And we have a game of patintero and we play it like till late. One of the experiences that come to me every now and then was the rope swing we found during one time we were going around in the neighborhood. There is this fat rope hanging on a tree. So we tried swinging tarzan-like with that one. The first swing was fine. Single swing was good. But since I was small and the youngest at that time, the older ones tried going for a duo with me. I guess the rope can only bear weight for so much, it broke mid swing. I ended up landing on the concrete canal that is exactly my size on the sides. It was hilarious and scary at the same time. We were not hurt. Shocked yes. **Do you have a favourite holiday and why?** https://read.cash/@Olasquare/more-questions-abd7d02f#do-you-have-a-favourite-holiday-and-why Christmas would be an easy holiday pick. Next to that would be the Holy Week because we can get a longer time off from school and work. Besides, from both holidays are connected to the best happening in humankind ever! Imagine Christmas is the birth of hope and salvation which is Christ and the Holy Week is the fulfillment of the prophecy of the completion of His mission on earth. **Have you ever encountered food that was hard to swallow but you didn’t want to offend someone?** https://read.cash/@Olasquare/more-questions-abd7d02f#have-you-ever-encountered-food-that-was-hard-to-swallow-but-you-didnt-want-to-offend-someone Hah! Going back to childhood. I'm a picky eater. And was not a vegetable-lover either. So I those were hard to swallow but we have to. Sometimes we fail and we do tactics to not have to eat the thing. But I get caught. I don't think that offends my parents though. I think they know the struggle I was going through. Haha. **How does “knowing too much” benefit or harm you?** https://read.cash/@Olasquare/more-questions-abd7d02f#how-does-knowing-too-much-benefit-or-harm-you Curiosity and that capacity to absorb, observe and conclude is a real gem that can be a curse and a blessing at the same time. knowing too much puts you in an advantage in knowing to strategize your plans if "knowing too much" is in line with that. Tat way, it bnenefits you. But "knowing too much" can also be annoying to some. It can be interesting, ergo, being a magnet of other curious souls who can also contribute to being a better you, or it can tick off people and repel them, too. Knowing too much does not mean you get a good look at every angle. You are just maybe a step ahead of one area of what the current situation is. It does not automatically mean you see all the angles. Knowing too much does not make you Doctor Strange though you can be strange to most. Haha. So this is by far my answers to some questions. Do feel free to use the same questions to brew up your article as well! *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *images made with* *Midjourney**. Why write? I am feeling a bit weird tonight. I started out well. Logged in my nine-to-six (more like ten-to-nine) and was ok. But I feel like it is cold. Mom said it is not cold, though. That feeling of if you turn on the electric fan it is cold. But if you don't, it's hot. I am confused! I popped in an expired (I suspect) Bioflu anyway, just in case (do not do it. I am still wondering why I did when I know I have a fresh set of Biogesic lying around). And I popped in an antihistamine earlier before that because I had the sneeze fest again suddenly around six pm. I guess that is a drop in the temperature. See? There is a breeze going around and it is cold. I cannot be just imagining it. I am probably just groggy after the adrenaline from work worn out and the antihistamine is kicking in. But I also check my throat every once in a while by swallowing. One can't have dry throat. So far, still good and no pain. Just feeling odd I guess. I have in my laptop an opened "Write An Article" supposedly. But I got lost in looking for images to put in it. I went looking for images in my hard drive and then turned to google photos. I enjoyed typing in keywords and also enjoyed looking at the pictures and remembering each story there is behind the captures. So, there, the article is yet to be finished (or started) and here I am writing another one. That one is waiting in the laptop and this one is being created while I am lying on the bed, trying to sleep. On second thought, I could be fighting off sleep. I have been sleeping super late lately. Probably the lack of physical activity contributed to that. But at least when sleep comes knocking in, it really knocks me out. It is just that I do not feel sleepy until almost 3am. I plan to sleep early tonight, though. See this is the thing I like about writing. I am mostly a kid with a lot in my head. Writing things down, however, prevents a hyper run of stories. I started writing with pen and paper since I discovered putting words together can create a story. Then after, I realize exploring my feelings by writing them down, too, can help me "put into words" what I am carrying in my head. Then afterwards, my heart and my head feels lighter. Some time ago, I make use of Window's notepad to type in whatever pops up in my head while I am working. Just a line or two. A thought or phrase, simply anything. It keeps me from getting bored and succumbing to writing thoughts down instead of battling to keep my concentration in what I should be doing makes me more productive after. I consider writing therapeutic. And also.. a healthy distraction if I feel the urge of doing it and I do it while I am in the middle of a task. *Tapping in a few words before signing off for the night.* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

Constant Evolution Let me make this quick. Hopefully. But before I continue with whatever I am going to blabber let me put in a song to set the mood. https://youtu.be/hmUyEDG7Jy0 The music has no connection to whatever Sunday rants I have. It is just that this song has been playing in my head thanks to Instagram and Facebook reels. It has been used a dozen times and when you think about it, the song does not even match the video as well. We are crazy about beats and rhythm but not the story being told, really. Anyhow. I am amused when I first experienced online chat. I remember joining a channel and "talking" to people living in another part of the world and most likely in a different time zone. That time, it was entertaining! An excitement brewed up inside me because I know this is one tool I can use to reach out to people and tell them about Jesus. From chat to trying SMS. I would send random message to random numbers trying to see if there is another human being owning that number. Fast forward still, photography came into picture. I tried film but I found it expensive, limited and taxing. What is a grade school's allowance, right? I do not have one. I have to justify to my dad why I need money and what for. Then thankfully our 'necessities' evolve as well. Some time ago only working people needed a cellular or mobile phone. Eventually we all need a cellphone. We all need to be able to connect to the world wide web. Salute to people who never had that itch to alleviate themselves from the normalcy of the hassle of lining up to pay bills and skipping mobile banking and web banking . Some people find these changes sketchy while others find it entertaining and amusing. I am part of the latter. While I do find myself from time to time sketchy as well from time to time but then I am a curious cat. Then there's this machine replacing people. Automation taking place of people's jobs, etcetera. Streamlining, process improvements, etcetera. Good and bad at the same time, right? But have you ever thought if some animals also have knowledge with "coping' to changes or adapting to these technological advances and do they also create their own technological evolution? I had such thoughts just because of one fly. Yes. Fly. An insect. We were visited one time with a huge fly. And I lured it in the bathroom. And sprayed Baygon in the room. Closed the door and went on with my day thinking that fly will be a goner. You know what when I went back to use the bathroom it is still there flying around strong! To my annoyance, I grabbed the baygon again and sprayed some. It looks like I am going to die first before it will. But thankfully it did. Seems them insects have upgraded their tactical defenses, too huh? Oh don't get me started with them ants who CAN swim to the food I placed in the middle of the plate with a lot of water so they cannot reach it. But they still end up getting there! Them silly little wise things, huh? They be surviving while the rest of humanity will probably be tryna keep up. *What is your take on the ever evolving technology and our lifestyle?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... ** Images done with AI through Midjourney by me. Thumbs Down for This One *Was a drone used in shooting the majority of its scenes?* That was my question the moment I played the first ten minutes of the movie. I was running out of interest in continuing with the series I started. Yes, yes, that attorney was amazing and amusing plus a killer for whale trivia but like I said most korean novelas really wow me with how long one episode plays. So I decided to give that one a rest and turn in to a movie instead. Somehow I landed on picking, *Carter.* Another virus turning people to behave deadly. Not exactly zombie but just violent. "Animal-like behavior" as they say. I was not counting on an awesome story really I just pressed play for the sake of entertainment. And veering away from drama and hoping for some suspense and action. There was a lot of action, alright. Also a bit political tease of some global dilemma like citing who created the commotion anyway? Was it North Korea? Was it South Korea? Or is it the United States, after all? The writer must have some awareness he or she would like to raise. Anyway, the film started calm until the camera starts moving around faster than normal movies really go. Haha. It was dizzying for me. It reminded me of one controversial and famous movie from way, way back - The Blair Witch Project. The film majors who were documenting a local murderer. I remember the film containing mostly faces, nose, drool and a lot of movement. Back then there were no drones so most of the movements were shaky, hand-held footages. This Carter film, though, loves following the movement of the subjects - zooming and zooming out too fast. Also, with some shake. It shakes specially when it is filming close to fight scenes. If my chair would also be in sync with every shake and blow, I'd think I am in for some Rialto-like experience. I kept the movie going while doing something else. Good thing, the audio is in English, I do not need to catch up reading subtitles while trying to keep myself from getting dizzy. The amusing thing in the movie is that Carter is getting instructions from a woman talking through his ears. I kept trying to look into his ears but I can't see an earpiece. So probably implanted. The movie kinda liked that idea, too. Implants. There was a bomb implanted inside his mouth through the back molar. Entertaining? Yes. Highly recommend? It is not a super yay for me but I'd say "Yes" to go and watch it for yourself. It is weirdly action-packed one man against a lot of other bad guys stuff. But if you are watching and not analyzing too much (and you have admired the movie Taken where the hero rarely gets hit) one would not really pay too much care about that. It is thumbs down for me just because it is dizzying. Other than that, I guess it is fine. Some time in the movie I also thought it is similar to Bourne Identity, too. It is peppered with fight scenes which you can skip. Up till the ending, endless blasts. *What have you been up to lately?* © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...
Road Trip Soundtrack If you will be driving for a long 3 to 5 hours, what will be your pick for a good playlist? It has been a long while since I was only a passenger during a long road trip. It was a delight. I was not even sitting shotgun. That means I am sitting at the back seat with no obligation but to laugh at the jokes shared, pipe in to whichever random topic we can think of, and yes, EAT. Also, I can opt to sleep instead the whole trip if I want to. But my friends are crazy and they might run out of topics and start targeting me while I am asleep. Paranoia much? Not really. It can happen. Our messenger group might end up with photos of me asleep. Thank goodness we still use mask inside the car else every sleeping person will be caught with their mouths open and close to drooling. It was a grand treat to just be in the back seat. Also, there is work to have as an excuse. The other one I was sitting in the back seat with opened her laptop, too, when I opened mine to check on some few things before really closing Friday duty. Another fun thing to do when you are seated at the back is to sing along with whatever the driver is playing. Cool thing is that my friend also have a wide range of music interest. It is not-so-silent rule that whoever drives gets to pick the music for the whole ride. Though I was groggy from insomnia the night before that trip, the panic repacking of 3-day trip stuff plus work laptop, it was hard to stop myself from joining in on the crazy singing all throughout the ride. It was a fun group. The first group was already in the resort. We were the last to arrive because we were that group who had things to do still. The night view, the moon, and the smooth ride to Batangas was partnered with the following songs in no particular order and picking only few from what kept us awake and energetic through out the almost four hours plus trip from Global City to Batangas: *One: Simple Plan - Perfect* https://youtu.be/RUi54JTgL5s The song brought about curious conversation of trying to recall if Simple Plan has some of their songs written around some member's issue with parental relationship. ***Two: Backstreet Boys - Quit Playing Games With My Heart*** https://youtu.be/Ug88HO2mg44 Then this song brought about the question of which decade of music is it that we loved most? It was a tough question honestly. I answered anything from 60s to present depending on what type of mood I am in. ***Three: Celine Dion's If You Asked Me to*** https://youtu.be/1bKuXbnGDqI Not upbeat and maybe will lull most people to sleep but not when you listen to the lyrics as well and start talking about it. This is a song I coined in as "marupok" song. You know? That song that projects that state for when we say "I've had enough!" but not really when our partners start being sweet again and start saying the "right words". ***Four: Ghetto Superstar*** https://youtu.be/gP3zuuGav-Y This is that one song that I threw in a trivia that this song adopted rhythm and some lines from Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream". So the way we sang this one was a mix of Islands in the Stream and the real lyrics of this song. We've had other mashups along the way too. Some intros of some songs will lead you to think it will play a different song. ***Five: Think of Laura*** https://youtu.be/nYEWeBarLww This song had a more modern adaptation. Boys 2 Men had a song dedicated to the late artist, Aaliyah, when she died on a plane crash in the Bahamas. We also had local songs in our queue and we explored information about which singing and songwriting competition were some of the songs we know really rooted from. It was a soothing and fun ride. Being that we have not seen each other for a real long time it is so good to have a crazy conversation connection via music. It was even crazier when we were going back because we prepared for songs for the trip back and all four of us have a ton of list to put in our playlist. Nostalgic. The youngest in our car also requested for old song. ***Six: Who's Holding Donna Now*** https://youtu.be/XtW3fpscYnQ This one brought me to think of the other songs that goes in the famous album compilation where this one is in : "Crusin'" they call it back in the day. *What is your goto song/songs/artist/artists/palylist when you are going on a long road trip or travel?* Music does connect people. The ending of our trip actually had us planning a jam session since most of us can play instruments. *What is your story?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content.. Revisiting the Splinter I have said so many times that I will play Splinterlands again. But I always end up playing Mobile Legends instead. I guess for my case even though I "earn" in Splinterlands, I still miss the non-earning pressure of simply wanting to rank up in other games (which is still hard). I get enthused to check Splinterlands every time I read from this guy I see in noise. And some other players as well. They talk about the changes and how exciting and if it is fair and all. The thing is, I get excited with any change. Whether it is fair or not, I really am honestly unsure at this point. The real deal is *if* I still get excited to play. Oh! But. It. Looks. Nice! So turns out the update clears up the logs from before. And I am also starting from the bottom. I do not mind that. Besides every season start, you start at the closest bottom you can based on your previous season's performance. So since I have skipped a lot of seasons already, it is no surprise I am in Novice. It took me a while to start playing. I took in the graphic, explored the air drop if I still get to claim some since my friend previously said I think it is one of the things that were stopped. Or that he may have misunderstood or I may have misunderstood what he misunderstood. Not dwelling much on what we misunderstood, I proceeded with staking, checking the dollar equivalent and "yay!" for 12USD.I know most rich gamers would say that is nothing compared to your billions. But hey I still got mine just from clicks. Not converting that yet, though. Save for the fact that I have not explored that yet, I really have no intentions at the moment to convert. One of the new stuff I noticed was the WILD and MODERN. The difference is explained in the info box. I've read it once or twice but the info did not stick to my reservoir just yet. Maybe because I am unaffected with the cards mentioned. Either way, I'd be able to play my normal cards on both. I tried WILD just because it sounds, well, "wild". First match after long hiatus, I lost. Nasty fire lineup for a 13-mana I did not see coming nor did I expect to win against my top 1. OR I may have confused my line up. My 13-Mana is Life. Recently added to my list. The other line up in my 13-mana list is Earth with Mylor Crowling but I do not have him yet. The other is Earth again with Scarred Llama Mage. I may have messed up my 13-mana lineup because I know I mentioned a 13-mana lineup in my Hive somewhere there. Anyway, not wanting to quit just yet and because I seldom have the luxury of time these days to "hang out" online, let alone, type up any article, I might as well explore more. And suck it up if I end up losing. It is not like there is a level lower than Novice anyway. So I switched to MODERN. Kinda also feels like it is the "normal" mode. Says me fooling me. I clicked "Battle" et voila! Now my Battle Log is not empty and also not painful to the eyes and the pride. My lineup so far for Death and Water seems to not file me. Just in case you'd want to know: Mana 16 for Death is this: Summoner - Thaddius Brood In other positions and in order : Cursed Windeku, Xenith Archer, Death Elemental and Carion Shade (I still don't know what he does and why he needs to be at the last position but he contributes I guess in this lineup). For Mana 30 Water, this is the lineup I used: Summoner - Kelya Frendul In other positions and in order: Diemonshark, Deeplurker, Feasting Seaweed, Merdaali Guardian and Scavo Hireling. Somehow their harmony works. This is not my first goto lineup for water but I think it may have defeated my lineup with Djinn Oshanus in it. So to reaffirm that the lineup that defeated me was not "just lucky" I placed it at number one and so far, it has given me lots of wins in the past. Hah! Not bad for revisiting the game. Too bad I will be out for the weekend and might be able to come back Sunday night. Not sure if I am up for a Splinter game then but I might try. Article done. Revisiting games done. I think I am done for today! Hurray! Now to get back to busy.... *What have you been up to?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *(like those Splinterlands screenshots...)*

Hearing the Crashing Waves At this very moment, days from the trip, I feel the butterflies in my stomach starting to flutter. But the adult in me calms them down lest we get too frustrated when things go sideways. *But I keep hearing them crashing waves. Seeing them build up high and curl down to a slow motion crash.* You know that eerie silence before the waves make a huge crash on the rocks or even just on the water itself? That! I am hearing that despite the fact that I am currently facing a deadline. In my excitement, I checked the weather for the next days covering the weekend. It has been crazy gloomy these past few days and I so wish it will be sunny on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And would you look at that? Still praying some predictions particularly on the said days will change. It was a spur of the moment "Yes" when my friend asked if I want to come with the group. It has been more than two years since I last saw this group of friends. They have been, in clumps, and few numbers been travelling here and there within the country re-visiting the provinces and taking in the changes after not being free to travel for too long. But we have not joined in in one huge trip like our Surigao trip before or our Batangas. So I said, "Yes" immediately. Not that I missed them but I would like to have a change in scenery, too. Few taps and planning and we have made a down payment to our accommodation. *How about visiting my sponsors?* After saying, "yes", and after being added to the group chat for easier information dissemination, I remembered one of the reasons I keep passing up to most of the weekend getaways being sent my way was because it always lands on when I am needed to pull in an overtime for work support. Yes, that occupies my weekend nights till groggy Sunday - depending on when the client starts their production cutover and what time they would start needing my support. It was then that I started to check on my emails and my calendar and realized this trip lands on that fateful activity. But thankfully, I mustered up the courage to try doing the support away from home and from a different location - one where I can see stars and hear the waves crashing on the shore. Maybe hearing music and laughters from a few late night partiers in a distant place, etcetera. Sadly, Milky Way season is over but maybe I can score some astro shots as well. All these in my head and heart and still I need to remind myself I got something to do on that weekend. So I did give a heads-up to my backup. Suppose the internet connection from the place goes bonkers or the power does not cooperate, I am going to need them to log in and fire my script for me and do the necessary report as well. I got to go and give my gears a bit of cleaning too. More than two years of not being used and no sun or salt exposure, I hope my fins can still give me that swim boost and not crumble. I need to clean my snorkels, too. I had the option of renting but I needed to remind myself why I bought them in the first place even before all these covid thing happened. I need to be able to know what I am putting in my mouth and what I am breathing in and out of is safe for my chest and lungs. Chances are, if we get a patch of sunshine, my friends will go down under the world of the sea, while I linger on the surface (down to where I can hold my breath) and take in the beauty of the world down there and relax. ***Otherwise, we would all be lounging in the resort patio probably snacking on everything we can grab and chugging on coke.*** © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...
