I took this photo in a vineyard on a cloudy day. My idea was to show the parallel lines of the plants and cones seemed to meet on the horizon due to perspective. Later I edited the photo to apply a small blur to the top and bottom of the photo, to get a miniature effect. #Photography

Photography vocabulary #1 Diaphragm aperture Regulates the amount of light that passes through the camera lens towards the camera sensor. The diaphragm is formed by a series of plates that move forming a more or less large circle, which allows more or less light to pass through (the larger the circle, the more light passes). The size of the aperture is expressed in f / values: the lower the f / value, the more light will enter. One thing to keep in mind is that the larger the aperture, the shallower the depth of field (the part of the image in focus), which does not allow images to be taken with a subject in focus and the background out of focus. #Photography

Photography tip #13 Bad weather, bad weather Not all photos have to be taken on a sunny day with blue skies. Of those photos you have surely taken many, like everyone else. Think of a place that you have seen photographed, sure that many of those photos are very similar, they are taken in good weather. Why not get something different with a different time? Also, think about how different a photo presents with fog, rain, wind ... like this photo, taken in Ireland while a fine rain was falling and the fog covered part of the landscape. #Photography

Photography tip #12 Play with shutter speed The shutter speed indicates the time during which we are taking the photo: the higher the speed we freeze that moment better, while the slower we capture more movement. Look at the next two photos of a spring water that I take one with a high speed, where the drops of water are almost appreciated, and another with a slower speed, where the water appears more blurred, like a cloud. When taking a photo with long exposure, it is recommended to use a tripod if it is longer than 1/60 s. Which of the two photos do you like the most? #Photography

Photography tip #11 A tripod is your ally Surely you know what a tripod is and its main function: to avoid camera shake when we are holding it with our hands and pressing the shutter button. But the fact of preventing the photo from being blurred gives us more advantages. For example, in low-light situations, the shutter speed will be slower. If we use a tripod, vibrations will not occur and we will obtain a brighter and sharper photo (like those night photos that you have surely seen). But it can also be used in daytime photos of landscapes, buildings... #Photography

Photography tip #10 Learn to use an editing program Sometimes we take photos that at first glance are very good but we notice that something is missing: a little more luminosity, intensifying the color a little ... We can achieve this with photographic editing programs. Lightroom, Photoshop ... there are numerous programs, both paid and free. Choose the one that best suits your needs and learn to use it, as you progress you will see how very good photos can become spectacular. Two tips: 1. Work on a copy of the original photo. 2. Unless it is your intention, try to make subtle changes, so that it does not appear that you have retouched the photo. #Photography

Photography tip # 8 Depth of field Have you seen those photos in which a person / animal / object stands out against a blurred background? You can achieve that with depth of field. Depth of field is the distance in front of and behind the object in focus, so if you reduce the depth of field when taking a photograph, you will make the subject in focus stand out more against the diffused background. You can reduce the depth of field in several ways: getting closer to the subject, increasing the aperture or using a larger zoom. For example, I was taken the photo of this meerkat with a 300 mm zoom. #Photography

Photography tip #7 Use a polarizing filter Have you ever worn sunglasses that have a polarizing filter? Do you notice how the image is sharper and the colors stand out more? If you can buy a polarizing filter for your camera, go for it. A polarizing filter reduces reflected light reaching the camera and increases the contrast of colors. Keep in mind that it is not always advisable to use a polarizing filter, as when there is little light it is softer (sunrise and sunset). #Photography
