Photography tip # 8 Depth of field Have you seen those photos in which a person / animal / object stands out against a blurred background? You can achieve that with depth of field. Depth of field is the distance in front of and behind the object in focus, so if you reduce the depth of field when taking a photograph, you will make the subject in focus stand out more against the diffused background. You can reduce the depth of field in several ways: getting closer to the subject, increasing the aperture or using a larger zoom. For example, I was taken the photo of this meerkat with a 300 mm zoom. #Photography
