What If? Hey there, another article, and I hope this one really piques your curiosity. As a child you may have asked some questions like: what if I could Fly? What if I had superpowers? Now that you're older, you probably think it’ stupid right? BUT what if? In recent times, I've been thinking. Thinking about everything. Life, death, eternity, love, etc. Basically, all those concepts that are a part of life. I've been asking myself the “What If” questions, trying to understand “reality”, or what we claim to know as real. In this article, I bring some of these thoughts to you, hoping they stir up curiosity in you. You’ve probably at one time or another thought: What if none of this is real? This whole life? What if it was all one big illusion? Or maybe even a dream? As I think about it, I think the idea is so cool. That everything we know just turns out to be a dream. You just wake up one morning to find that all you've done over the past couple years never really happened. What if you’re not even human. What if you were an alien using some sort of device, or machinery to spy on earth for an invasion😅😅. Okay so maybe that’s improbable, but still, the possibilities are endless. My point is all that we claim to know as real, just might not be. But while it’s super cool, it’s also a really scary idea. Just imagine for even one minute that all the people you think you know and love, it turns out you don’t. All your loved ones, are non existent. Just imagine that all the feats you seem to have accomplished, you actually haven’t. The life that you have lived so far turns out to be insignificant, because as the case may be, you never did live. Or imagine if you’re already dead, just getting a recap of your life. The feeling that nothing happening has an impact on the outcome of your life. A future set in stone. Indeed the idea is scary. Then what if you could go back in time? What would you change? What would you do differently? Would you even do anything differently? Did you have regrets over the course of your life up till this point? How much do you think you would change if you could? Certainly, I know would change some stuff. But what about the outcome of these changes? By that I mean, we think we know what would be best, but what if all that is, and has happened is supposed to, and what if the outcomes would always remain the same? Would the past still be worth changing? This probably isn’t the article you were expecting, but I just felt the need to share my state of mind on this particular issue. We need to really consider these, and maybe, just maybe we would have a different perspective of the lives we live. Like Rummy from “The Boondocks” would say, “The absence of evidence, is not the evidence of absence”. Think about it.

Overwhelmed? Hey there, it's nice to be writing to you again. Honestly, I want to write to you everyday, but like the topic states, I get overwhelmed. Do you ever have so much stuff to do, but not enough time to do it? Don't answer, because I already know the answer, and it's yes. We all have a lot of stuff on our minds. A lot of stuff to do, but there is just not enough time to get everything done on time. I experience this almost every time. I tell myself a list if things that I want to do I a day, and at the end of that day, this list just hits me after I already forgot, the I realise that I did only a few, and if I’m really dedicated maybe a couple of the things on that list. This is totally my fault, I know. I don’t take my tasks seriously and I usually put them off till later, then they slip into the next day’s to-do list, adding to the list of things I already have to do, making it harder to accomplish all the tasks, and this just keeps happening, and then it seems like I’m overwhelmed. If you’re like me, you might be guilty of this too; suffering the same consequences. But come on, we deserve a little credit. At least we try, and that’s better than.......well, not trying. However, after giving it some thought, I came up with ways to help me in achieving my daily goals, and I thought I would share them with you. **1. Don’t do too much.** You could be going very hard on your self, giving yourself so many tasks in one day, that accomplishing all of them becomes almost impossible. In this situation, you cause your own problems. The only way to solve this is by you simply setting realistic, time based daily goals. Don’t give yourself so much work that you become so overwhelmed, and end up working less efficiently, not doing as much as you would ordinarily be able to. Take it easy on yourself. 2. Allocate Time to Every Goal If you get distracted doing other things, or just chilling and having fun, that you don’t want to, or maybe you just forget to carry out your tasks, I think k you should set a tome for every task you give yourself in a day. For every task that you have, allot a time to it. Set an alarm, set a reminder, and still give yourself enough time to relax, so when the time for the task comes, you don’t feel hindered, and restricted by your tasks. Time management, and planning is important. 3. Be Disciplined I know it’s easier said than done. “Discipline yourself”. It’s really easy to say, but it’s not a command that just becomes reality. Discipline is really hard, and it takes a lot to develop it, but we have to try. Try your best to keep to your schedule, try your best to be as dedicated to your tasks as you can, try to do all that you have to to. It’s not easy, and that’s why we need the discipline. There would be no point in creating a schedule, or setting an alarm or reminder if we’re not going to keep to it. Discipline plays a humongous role in accomplishing tasks, and as far as I know, it can’t be substituted. 4. Practice makes Perfect Lastly, practice makes Perfect. It’s okay if you try but still can’t seem to get it all done. Don’t beat yourself up, just keep trying; because like I said, trying, is better than not trying. As long as you keep going at it, you should find it easier, and before you know it, you’re accomplishing daily goals, which eventually add up to weekly goals, and monthly goals, yearly goals, and even lifetime goals. All we have to do is keep trying. I’m not Perfect, and I cannot say that I always accomplish all my daily goals, but just as you’re following these tips, so am I. I’m going to be using these tips, and hopefully at the end of this new week, I can give a report on how it worked out for me, and who knows, maybe I’ll even get to hear about how it turns out for you too. Have a great week. Write to you soon.

Writer's Block I wrote my first article here, a little over a week ago, and honestly, I've been struggling since then. I kept thinking "what do I write next". I was stuck, more so because I hope to always write about something exciting. It felt like there were no new ideas coming, no creativity flowing, no passion growing, and I just kept postponing this second article. However, I am glad I get to write to you again. I never planned to write on Writer's Block (Creative Block really, because it happens to a lot of creatives), no. I had a totally different article planned out, but somehow, here we are. Writer's Block could make you feel really terrible. You just can't seem to write at the same level that you believe you would ordinarily. It's that point in your creative journey that you just seem stuck. You can't seem to do anything new. If you're not strong, or passionate, it could make you believe writing (or whatever creative field you delve into) is not meant for you, but don't worry, you're good. You're just experiencing what arguably every creative has experienced, or will experience at some point. Good for you Writer's Block is beatable. I am going to give you some tips on how you could beat Writer's (Creative) Block; and hopefully, after you're done reading, you have just what you need to break through the Block. 1. Get Started So, this first tip seems pretty ironic. I know, "I'm having issues writing, and the cure is supposed to be writing?" Doesn't sound like much help does it? But in fact, getting started might just be what you need. Sometimes, you just have to go with the flow. Honestly, it's how I started this article. I didn't know what I was going to write but I just started, and look how far we've xon already. Now, I know what I'm going to write in the next paragraph, and the next, and so on. When you're stuck, and don't know what to write, just start writing, and keep going. Soon enough, you should start getting ideas on what to write next. Before you know it, you have a whole book, or essay, or article; just lime this one. 2. Take a Break You don't want to push yourself too hard. If you don't know what to write, take a break, and just kick your feet up. Watch a movie, visit a friend, take a walk, and just enjoy yourself. Free your mind, don't think about work. Just be free. After you've relaxed, come back to work, and try again. You should do a better job than the first try. 3. Don't be too hard on yourself I know it's really difficult to be "blank". Not having a clue on what to write, and you can't blame anyone but yourself; and sure enough, you do. But don't sweat it. You're not a failure, as you might be inclined to think. Every creative faces the same thing. Even the greatest creatives did. The thing is, they learned to keep pushing, and not let the blocks stop them. Don't beat yourself up for something that's natural. It is not your fault. Allow yourself to not feel guilty. If anything, guilt hardens the "block". 4. Keep it Simple Maybe the cause of your "block" is overcomplication. Sometimes after doing so great, we feel pressure to do better than our previous works, and this pressure could get to us. We feel the need to always do better, and anything short of "better" is worthless. This pressure however, is self-inflicted. In times like this, we just need to take it slow. Keep it simple. Don't try too hard, just try; and whatever you do, is good enough. 5. Be Real Sometimes, we experience creative blocks because we're trying so hard to be like someone else, to create in a way that someone else would. In doing this, we often forget how to be ourselves, and how to create like ourselves. We lose value for our work. My advice, be you. Be Real. Do what you want, how you want it done, and in the end, appreciate your work because it's yours. No other person could do it the way you do, and that is far better than being a copycat. That's all the tips I can share with you today. I hope they help you overcome your Block (whatever creative field you may be in). Write again soon friend. (Hopefully I won't have any blocks next time😄).

The Start of a Journey: My First Article Hi there, My Name is Pereira, and this is my first article here. I don't know how far this thing could go, and if I'm being honest, I'm just sort of writing according to instinct right now. But it's okay, because I'm writing to my friends. If you didn't already know, that's you. I consider you: my readers, to be my friends. I mean, we don't know each other yet, but hopefully as we go on, we can learn a little about noe another. I don't know how often I'll be writing, but I do know that everytime I write for your reading, I hope it’s about something exciting. However, for this first article, I just want to introduce myself to you. Help you get to know me a little. Like I said, my name is Pereira. I am an artist, model, actor, and I do accents. I’m an undergraduate majoring in Social Work. I think that’s good enough for now, and hopefully in my future articles, you’ll get to know more about me. Now, writing an article to publish seems unnatural to me. Why? You may ask. Well, it’s just because I don’t even like reading; and now, I’m the one putting out material for people to read. Ironic isn’t it. But, who cares? If I feel like putting my pen to paper to pass a message, a love for reading shouldn’t be a criterion for that. Also, I like to meet new people, and if writing is going to help me do that, then why not. I know what you’re thinking, “meet”? I know, we have probably never met, but I hope that we can explore the closest possibilities through these articles. If I end here, I think it’s a pretty good start. I have accomplished the mission of letting you get to know me a little. I want the articles I publish here to serve as a record of a relationship that I hope to share with my readers. I want to take you on a journey with me every time I write, and these articles will be our journal, our records of this journey I hope you will embark on with me, documenting thoughts, opinions, growth, progress, and yes of course, our “friendship”. This is just a start of so many things, and I am excited. Welcome, and Let’s go.
