That moment when I put Sage to sleep as we usually have a mommy-baby bonding before he would doze off. He would just say anything whatever comes to his mind and I would just burst into laughter and he would say, "mommy laughing?" of course I have to reply, "yes baby, mommy is laughing!" and then he would continue, "mommy happy?" I have to reply the obvious, "yes baby mommy is happy!" The point behind repeating the statement even if it's grammatically incorrect is essentially substantial to my baby's cognitive development. This is how I teach him to learn basic emotional quotient. Happiness matters a lot when we're together. And everyday I have to say the same statement over and over again..."mommy loves you!" he would literally say the same sentence but this time I have to correct him by saying, "no baby, you should say... "mommy I love you too..'.... oh you think that he's done just yet? he would start saying..."daddy loves you, toto Mike loves you, Grandpapa Dones loves you...( naming all his friends and pets) This may sound so nonsensical but on top of everything I am a FIRST TIME Mom and this is a very good learning curve for me and for my baby. As much as I am teaching him things, Sage Alexander vroom vroom teet teet is indirectly giving me confidence that I am just doing the right thing when I see him growing well. To all the parents on the platform, don't forget to say "Goodnight and "I love you" to your babies once they doze off to sleep subconsciously it will retain in their emotional quotient.
