Daily wildlife photography: the grey heron, Ardea cinerea. Yes, there's a seagull in the photo, but this post is about the big bird on the left! :) Grey herons are huge, with mainly grey plummage, and they are often seen standing motionless in shallow waters, waiting for their prey. This one didn't seem to be actually hunting, thow. Photos taken in estuário do Sado, Portugal.
