One of my Splinterlands recent joys: my first encounter with Wake was in a battle with the ruleset of silenced summoners, meaning the summoners can't give skills. I beat him, but I was unsure how possible it was to beat this 2000$ summoner in a game without its abilities hampered. Well, today I found out: eat my shorts, Waka! You're not unbeatable! :)) Gotta love this game, skill and some luck matter a ton!

@Pardinus

Been paying more and more attention to another one of Hive's blockchain game, Rising Star. While the "fun" factor is nowhere near Splinterlands, it does provide a great opportunity for near-passive income, since missions can take long to perform, and provide you with Starbits, the ingame currency that you can easily swap for other tokens. And there are packs to be opened too: the more and better cards you have, the more starbits you gain from missions = the better your…

Finally, the loooong awaited news came: swap in the Celsius app is finally enabled!! And since all my portuguese friends got the same email, guessing it's at least a country thing. Being able to swap currencies in app with zero fees is a game changer, and I'm guessing Celsius will attrack a lot of new users. And now... let the swapping begin! πŸ˜„

@Pardinus

Well, this was a surprise. Went shopping for groceries at a place with biological products... and one of the vegetables brought a bonus! Escargots are definitely not my thing! Oh well, had to go down the stairs again to put the little guy where he belongs: away from my food! PS. No snails were harmed in the making of this post.

@Pardinus

How time flies! It's been 5 years since last time I trained with an awesome boxing coach, and he invited me to the anniversary gala of the gym where he moved. Loved seeing the place again, and there was even some light sparring in the show! Missing my boxing and martial arts days... hopefully not for long!

@Pardinus

PolyCub is on!! Platform went live yesterday, and APY's are just insane in these first days. In an era where Defi is booming, and rugpulls are the dish of the day, it's great to know which team is behind which projects. And given the track record of Leofinance and Cubdefi, I feel a lot more confident to jump in and explore. I have no doubts price volatility is also going to be crazy these days, but with 5 digits APY, the chances of decent profits are huge!

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the Madeiran chaffinch, Fringilla coelebs maderensis. Since Madeira island has tons of nature trails, visited by thousands of people, some of these chaffinches started to get used to human presence, to the point they almost come and eat from your hand in some places, especially belvederes. This allows for very close photography, no big zooms needed here!

@Pardinus

Aren't raptors amazing animals? As the ones following probably noticed by now, I love wildlife photography. And it's not that common for me to get decent raptor photos, especially in flight; the speed and the fact that I don't have a reflex camera contribute to that. Nevertheless, sometimes you have that perfect moment where everything is right: the distance, the timing, the light... and those awesome photos appear! Sharing two of my favourite ever raptor photos: A…

Revisiting some photos from an unplanned trip to Tihany, a small village in Hungary. Travelling withouth fixed plans enables you to find some hidden gems like this one. There was a ton of nature trails to be made near the village, and the views were simply awesome. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to this beautiful country!

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the mute swan, Cygnus olor. We are used to see them in urban parks, but it's always better to see them out in the wild. Found this cute couple swimming in a small lake in Hungary; they chose the golden hour for a romantic dinner, since they spent a lot of time feeding. Can't complain, got a ton of time to snap some photos. Even better than photographing wildife, is being able to add sunsets to the scene!

@Pardinus

Another week of collecting Coingecko's candies, and already passed the 10k mark! It takes just a few seconds, and they're free. Apart from the goodies already available, you never know when a special nft or another valuable item can be claimed, so might as well keep stacking them.

@Pardinus

Travelling again! A flash trip to France, not for the best reasons, but had to be done. Might as well enjoy the landscape and get together with family that I haven't seen for a long time. Some things never change, thow: Spain, love your people and the country... but your coffee still sucks! 😁

@Pardinus

Flowers look even more beautiful after the rain, when they retain those little droplets. Snapped these while visiting my cousin's house; soo many memories brought back today, but those can't be placed here... guess the flower photos will have to do. πŸ™‚

@Pardinus

Finally back home, and hopefully, to my usual posting habits. Even more important thow, is that I made it back to my usual minimum running distance today!! 6km was my usual run when I was short on time, and today, after 9 months, ran the same distance again. Still turtle pace, but without worsening the pace of my last runs in shorter distance. Now, time for improvement! Have a great week everyone!

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the european serin, Serinus serinus. These were one of the first birds I've learned to identify by their singing. It's a very characteristic one, very fast and continuous; that and their bright colours make them easy to identify, especially since they tend to sing from high places! Found this one giving a concert in a cloudy morning, somewhere in southern Portugal.

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the great tit, Parus major. In this species, you can easily distinguish male from female: in the males, that black stripe comes all the way from the front neck down to the abdomen and widens a little bit in the end. In females, the band is smaller and faints in the upper abdomen. It's hard to tell if they have their backs turned at you like in the first photo, but if you see them in front, it's easy to know. Great tits are awesome! :)

@Pardinus

The Total Value Locked (TVL) in Polycub just keeps increasing; if I recall correctly, more than doubled since last week! Leofinance, the team behind this great project, has been actively working on marketing and spreading the word, and the results do seem to be appearing. Huge APYs and a solid team behind it... what are you waiting for, if you haven't joined yet? ;)

@Pardinus

Today is a special day! Hive blockchain completes 2 years; although being a Steemit's fork, I consider it the original one. I've joined the blockchain almost 4 years ago, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made: the amount of knowledge gained, the exposure to crypto, the community, definitely made a huge mark on my life. I highly doubt I would even be here, since it was through Hive that I learned about Noise.cash! So, Happy Birthday Hive, and…

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the Madeira firecrest, Regulus madeirensis. Firecrests are very cute but very tiny birds, and these ones aren't exceptions! These are a subspecies of the common firecrests, and only exist in Madeira island. I was fortunate to spot them last time I visited, while doing one of the many nature trails the island has to offer.

@Pardinus

Another quest completed, another pack received! Splinterlands seems to be more or less stagnant, but today another airdropped card was released, and from now on... 6 legendary summoners remain! I have no doubt that wondeful things will come as the year develops and new features arrive. There are SO many on the roadmap!

@Pardinus

Thorchain is a project on my radar for quite some time, and been trying to gather some RUNE whenever I see some dip; however, I sitll haven't interacted with the ecossystem until now. Finally downloaded their thor wallet, and will play around with some tokens during the next days. The ability to swap tokens on their native blockchains is absolutely amazing, and if this project suceeds, I have no doubts RUNE will skyrocket. Are you familiar with Thorchain?

@Pardinus

I prefer to photograph real birds... but sometimes their representations are just as awesome. Found a stork's sculpture atop of a chimney in an abandoned factory. A strange place to place an art form, but no doubt that it catched my attention; and in the golden hour, the contrast with the sun going down in a cloudy day made the scene even more perfect for a photo capture. Photo taken in Tavira, Portugal.

@Pardinus

Crypto.com users have a few more options to redeem their diamonds won doing missions. Apart from the mistery boxes, we now have nfts and several merchandise products! A good move from the team. True, the amount of needed diamonds is huge, but since you're getting them for free for completing missions, it's just another good incentive to utilize the platform.

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the black headed gull, Chroicocephalus ridibundus. Despite its name, only in the summer do the adults develop the plummage with the dark head; in the winter, only a dark spot behind the eyes is seen. They are a very common species, and even in the winter, the colour pattern makes them easy to identify. Photos taken in Como, Italy.

@Pardinus

My wildlife photography: the red rumped swallow, Hirundo daurica. This is probably my favourite of all the swallows in Portugal, since it's a bit more colourful than most other species. It's hard to get them to stand still, but fortunately for me they liked to perch in the wires near my holiday destination last year, so was finally able to get them on camera.

@Pardinus

Been over two decades since I wore one of these things... but you're never too old to learn something new. I was curious about this art for a while, and finally made up my mind. Time to add a new skill to my portfolio: jiujitsu, here I come! 😎

@Pardinus

Only one day left for the end of season in Splinterlands. And what's better than getting one pack in the daily rewards? Easy: getting two packs on the same daily! :) Just hoping I'll be this lucky in the end of season rewards. This season seems especially challenging, but still trying to push my way to Champion III. And how is this season going for you, fellow warriors?

@Pardinus

When you think Splinterlands seems to be on the quiet side, news like this appear: SPS token is now listed on crypto.com exchange! Those are awesome news, and I honestly believe that as soon as SPS is listed on major exchanges, the game value will skyrocket once again. In the meantime... battle as much as you can so you can keep up stacking DEC and reward cards!

@Pardinus

So... rambling time. Tody I found out that I wasn't allowed to give free tips to one of my favourite authors here. Said author hasn't been able to give free tips for weeks, and now is unable to receive them as well. In this case, I know her in real life, she's an amazing photographer, and her posts reflect that. And yes, I know this happened to a lot of good authors, it will probably pass when/if an algorithm or whatever rechecks her profile. My question is... why does it…
