My wildlife photography: the white stork, Ciconia ciconia. Storks are very common in some parts of the country, but these are probably some of my best shots of them since I normally see the hovering in the air way higher. This one had a nest nearby, and glided peacefully through our group during one of our birdwatching sessions.

Finished dinner, and was lazy to do the dishes right away, so came to the computer to check on a few open tabs. Before moving to the kitchen again, I though... "let me just open one Splinterlands pack...". The result? MY THIRD GOLD FOIL LEGENDARY EVER! And with a gold summoner too! It's moments like these that make this game awesome. Second run after a big forced stop, and things are looking good! Managed to run 26 minutes and almost 3,5 km without pain. Still in turtle mode, 7:30 min/km, but...baby steps! In one month I hope to be a lot closer to my usual pace; and fortunately with today's gadgets, progress is easy to assess.

My wildlife photography: the little cormorant, Microcarbo niger. Cormorants dive to feed, so they need extra measures to dry their feathers when they return to dry land; that's why we can normally see them perched with their wings wide open: to help in the drying process. This little guy was enjoying the sun after a dive in a small lagoon, somewhere in Tangalle, Sri Lanka.

I started reading a lot about technical analysis when I join the crypto world. Not looking at charts nearly as often as I would like to, but it's something I want to change during this year. And looking at BTC chart, it seems we finally broke out of a descending channel. If it can push above those 42k level... Ibelieve we could see another good movement up! Any thoughts?

Time for some useful info. Yes, it's wildlife, but not the kind you want to meet: the pine processionary, Thaumetopoea pityocampa, is an insect that we can unfortunately come across even in urban areas, as it was the case with me and a friend today. Their name comes from the way they move, in a row, like in a procession. Their hairs can cause severe allergic reaction: don't even think about touching them or letting your pets go near them, I've had too treat too many animals…

My wildlife photography: the iberian magpie, Cyanopica cooki. This is one of my favourite endemic birds: very curious and playful, and with a beautiful plummage. I have some difficult finding them when I want to take some photos, but fortunately for me, they were frequent visitors in front of the house where I spent holidays, last summer. They would normally appear isolated, but sometimes a few individuals would join and interact too.

Celsius is one of the platforms I use to store longer term assets and reap the benefits of compounding interests. One of the things it lacked was the ability to do in-app swaps. It has been announced for quite some time but nothing happened... until now? Just received this in my mail box, and can't wait to update and see if this is finally true! My wildlife photography: the black kite, Milvus migrans. Black kites are one of the most common birds of prey here in Portugaland they're easy to recognize in flight, due to their forked "codfish-like" tail. During a birdwatching session with good friends, I was able to spot them perched too, which doesn't happen so often. And better yet, I was able to actually get decent photos! :)

All the different combinations of rulesets and abilities in Splinterlands can sometimes lead to exceptional situations. In the game, speed is a very important factor, because it affects not only the order in which each card attacks, but also the hit and miss rate. One of the lessons I've learned the hard way: if you're not stocking up your long term portfolio and you just buy coins for quick profit, ALWAYS use a stop loss. This was one of the times I didn't, and got lucky. Bought Lit around 7$, and he dipped... and stayed there for weeks. Sometimes you have to know when to stop playing. This was how close I got to Champion III in Splinterlands this time: 2 mere points! But a couple defeats in a row and there I went. Been reviewing some moments from my vacations in the two portuguese archipelagos: Madeira and Açores. It's amazing how much overlooked these destinations are by portuguese people; they're heaven for anyone who likes nature, and I tend to appreciate them more and more. And since travelling to foreign countries is still uncertain, I'm guessing I'll visit them again soon!

So long since I've visited Lisboa centre! I went to a restaurant that refuses to abide to the current nonsenses, not requiring certificate or masks, and it felt good to see some normality. And on the way there, passed by one of the iconic squares, that features a statue of Portugal greatest poet, Camões; really near to the nightlife area... but that will stay for another night. 😉

My wildlife photography: the white-throated kingfisher, Halcyon smyrnensis. Funny how here in Portugal, I can spend years before seeing a perched kingfisher, and in Sri Lanka, I was seeing them all over the place! White-throated kingfishers were perching in the electric cables, in a completely urban area, as if they were having fun observing the tourists passing by. And they didn't seem to mind me approaching as close as I could to snap these photos!

Took a while, but there wasn't really a hurry. Today, it's time to celebrate: I just finished maxxing a full set of reward cards!! As of now, have all the new rewards at top levels, giving me a DEC bonus as well, and making me able to use their full potential on Diamond league. And who knows, maybe I'll be able to join enough cards to have a few spares for rentals and passive income as well. Definitely, Splinterlands is the BEST GAME EVER! :) #splinterlands #play2earn

Time just seems to fly by these last weeks. Either that, or I really need to improve my prioritization skills. But better times will come for sure, and more time to focus on the crypto markets and do a decent goal planning. As the saying goes, there's a new sunrise every day! Another great surprise in the Splinterlands realm. My alt's guild finished second in the brawl, which meant a ton of merits and the chance to get two more gladius cases. And what was lurking inside? My second gladius legendary card!! I would prefer to se a legendary on my main account, but won't complain! Now I want to see her trashing enemies in the Splinterlands battlefields... the only way "wars" should be fought.

Celsius has been the platform where I chose to receive my BCH, adding the advantages of accumulation to gaining interests; with the disadvantage of being a centralised platform, and as the saying goes, "not your keys, not your crypto". So wasn't expecting to see them joining forces with defi! Still have to read better about what exactly this is... but definitely curious about it!

Been reviewing my archives to find some unusual bird photos, and discovered a couple of pearls. Heck, one of the photos doesn't even look like a normal animal: a male bustard (Otis tarda) doing a courtship display seems more of an experiment gone terribly bad! :) Still had a lot of fun remembering these situations. Have you ever witnessed some strange bird behaviours?

Found a couple more funny bird photos! One of the cool things about digital photography, we can click and click, and end up having a lot of different photos from the same subject. In my case, there's a bad side to this: I sometimes have too many slightly different photos, but can't make up my mind about which ones I like the most, so I keep them all; which is a pain later when browsing them.
