I've been reading all these crypto obituaries the last few days and having fun times. Repeat after me: Crypto is dead - Crypto is dead - Crypto is dead !! Always the same. It was the same with dot-com and the internet. Probably it was the same with other industries, I don't know about that. People with limited foresight can't recognize the vast potential of new technologies and new financial instruments. While I oppose the approach of Bitcoin maximalism, I can't declare Bitcoin (BTC) dead either. Since, it isn't. BTC can easily reach 100-200k by 2025. I sure hope better coins will deliver better results, though. BTC will have at least one more parabolic cycle that will send it to higher status. Certainly there's no clear vision or narrative in the BTC community but endless flip-flopping in several issues. A constant change of the narrative between SoV (store of value) and MoE (means of exchange), and an evangelism on how Bitcoin (BTC) solves almost everything. The fact that maximalists haven't recognized (all this time) how money works is the reason for this depressive state of its community and spokespeople. However, the Bitcoin network on its own has inherent value and potential to achieve better price targets. Its current community only shrinks this potential and reduces its future value. In the parallel world where Bitcoin didn't split in 2017 but proceeded with scaling, its price would have reached $100k or higher in 2021. A Bitcoin crippled of MoE characteristics could only achieve $69k and currently battling with 2017 levels. Still, this doesn't mean BTC is dead. It is foolish to think that Bitcoin, even in this crippled BTC version, will not revive. BTC's potential is halved though, because of the dubious decisions taken by a bunch of devs and a few guys at Blockstream. It still sells well as an SoV. And there's a lack of SoV financial instruments lately as gold definitely is not scarce anymore, and the BTC marketing has performed exceptionally with sales to funds. On the other side, Bitcoin Cash delivers a perfect MoE system that any business or website can integrate and become bank-independent. That's what Bitcoin was always about, although the (crypto) market decides. And in 2021, this market decided to support dog memes and weak projects instead. However, a big chunk of this market is dominated by decisions taken by the heads of crypto exchanges. Unfortunately, we regularly read how Binance, Coinbase, and a few more crypto exchanges abuse their position in this market and create negative terms for worthy cryptocurrencies (or positive terms for complete trash). We use Bitcoin Cash, and we know it works 100 times better than BTC, but the price is 99% lower. A clear outlier in this market. An irregularity that can be fixed and probably it will be. Anyway, disputes within the crypto industry have nothing to do with the crypto concept, which is far from dying. Crypto brought us technologies like NFTs and DeFi that will become integral in modern economies. All these, in just a few years of its existance. Back in 2017, we couldn't dream about DeFi, decentralized lending, or the NFT idea evolving as much it did. I see plenty of crypto-critics finding their voice recently as prices and interest in crypto declines. But they will disappoint their followers as they will all be left behind in the modern finance race.

More obituaries 😅
The more, the better!
Those who create the opinion matrixes (big businessmen and leaders) are the ones who manipulate the market to their liking, and who shout that crypto is dead. Could not be farther from the truth. And I find that those bastards are only looking to fill their coffers and finance their interests, because it's part of their game. At the end of all this story, what matters, what really matters is what people use, what is proven to be efficient, and not the mistakes of those leaders. Your analysis is deep and professional, dear Pantera, I always have to examine everything you say with tweezers to assimilate it (well, I'm slow for that, sorry). Thank you for sharing your vision and again, a pleasure to see you in these parts where we coincide. Reinaldo V.
Yes, they are setting the stage to launch CDBCs. So obituaries and epitaphs about cryptos should not surprise us.
Right. CBDCs will arrive soon. What a different and hostile world we will be living in.
Awesome analysis! Strongly agreed on those who give up now by thinking that crypto is useless or dead , sure will regret soon. Crypto is reality and best form of financial services of future.
