Eastern thuja is an evergreen tree species grown as an ornamental plant from the cypress family. It is native to northern China, widely naturalized in South and North India, Korea, Japan, and Western and Northern Iran and Turkey. Eastern thuja has been included in many different classifications by botanists. This pinecone was a lot of fun to photograph, and it had a distinctively pleasant scent.
