An Allegory Explaining Why Violence Is Not Always The Best Solution We are all aware of what is happening in the Ukraine, and the immense human tragedy events there are causing. There seems to be a flaw in the human psyche, causing us to lash out in anger whenever something bad happens to us. Will we ever learn NOT to use violence to attempt to resolve all our problems? A master was explaining to his student one day that while sometimes effective, violence is not the solution to every problem. The student was not in agreement, and argued that might makes right, and that the more powerful force is always the one that wins. The master spoke to him. "Suppose a mosquito lands on your body. What will you do?" "I will smash it!", the boy enthusiastically replied. "Very good," the master agreed. "But suppose the mosquito lands on your testicles?" There is always a way to solve a problem without violence. ======================================================= A special bonus joke, for those of you who are still reading: One day, while taking a bath, a three year old boy pointed to his testicles, and asked his mother, "Mama, are these my brains?" Smiling, she replied, "Not yet."
