Fix up a pedal bike to a dynamo to generate free electricity and store in a battery. The only downside is you won't be a fat old bastard anymore.
What? And lose my trademark body shape? What an outlandish suggestion! :-) Besides, just how much electricity would a leisurely 10 minute ride produce? (You can't possibly expect me to pedal longer than that, can you?)

Oh I see, you would think there would be an off grid industry to fill the gap.
Or the electric company could improve their service? Man, you ought to see the wiring around here. Yikes! I don't know how the guys work on it without getting electrocuted.
