Anybody Mining Helium? On one of the YouTube channels I subscribe to, (VoskCoin), several videos have been posted promoting Helium miners. (E.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXJIox0R0lQ ) Supposedly these miners are cheap, and don't use much electricity, so if you are located advantageously, you could get your investment back in as little as a month. I wonder if mining Helium would work in rural Philippines? Our electricity is expensive and erratic here, and folks are kinda spread out. I would guess there isn't a "Helium Hotspot" for miles around here? (According to https://explorer.helium.com/ , there are some hotspots in Mindanao, but NOT on the Zamboanga peninsula. Bummer!) If you want to try crypto mining, it appears that mining for Helium would be a good start, as you don't need to go heavily into debt to get the required equipment. Anyway, the VoskCoin channel has lots of videos on Helium mining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ont126oav-c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_6vsfB4seA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzN2j1icNWs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mYWcUJHUYU Lots of other YouTubers are posting videos on Helium as well. (Just do a search on "Helium miner"!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LnlyUyC77U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohkl6uJOIns So, anybody on Noise mining Helium?

I am subscribed to Vosk as well but I just read this post on Reddit that says he is one of the YT channels being paid thousands for promoting specific coins. https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/qukf1a/how_much_it_costs_to_buy_access_to_crypto/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. He seems way overenthusiastic for some projects. However, since a Helium miner is cheap, I just wonder if anyone here on Noise has any experience using one. It seems like a reasonable speculation to take the plunge and buy one, but I could be getting swept up in hype.
I very seldom buy new coins, it has been Btc, EOS and XMR for me. I then sold all my EOS and XMR for Eth and Link, which did really well. I sold some Btc for BCH which went really bad :( but doubled my BCH by converting all forks of it back into BCH, so some compensation. I was a big fan of Emin Gun Surer and Don Wanton who are in the Avalanche project. I signed up to be an early investor but somehow never got any updates and I missed the whole thing :(. I am also a big fan of Mark Lamb which is why I went heavily into Flex. I really believe it is going to explode in value and was determined not to miss out on my hunches which apart from BCH (so far) have been pretty reliable.
It's a mystery to me why BCH hasn't appreciated in value like some other coins, but then it's also a mystery to me why Dash seems to be fading away. Then again, if stupid meme coins can gain a huge market share, then who is to say that the crypto market is even sane?
Yes it's hard to make sense of. People don't seem to care about trust less money. It's the the stake to drive through the heart of vampire bankers. With them gone there will be no more world wars, weak and people friendly government and wealth stays with the people. I recommend this interview of an ex Tesla employee describes working there. It's one of the best I've heard. I promise you it is relevant. https://youtu.be/6edPaRGyHIQ
That was interesting. I've been in two "agile" environments where they kept the traditional command-and-obey management structure in place. Needless to say, these places were agile in name only. Actually, going "agile" hurt us worker bees, because now we had additional responsibilities, but no additional authority.
Only Bitcoin
Is that profitable for you? Actually, another way to look at mining is that you can acquire cryptocurrency without having to provide KYC information. So it's useful in that sense as well.
Yeah, highly- wanna know how I do it?
Sure. Anything that avoids KYC is good in my opinion.
I use a platform that helps mine and also trade, it Serves multi purpose so you just choose which you'd love to run on , with just a minimum of $300 you should kickstart mining or trading. The most interesting part of it all is that you get to sit bank and learn while you earn, how to you learn? They trade stocks, currency pairs and crypto and they openly trade this so you could observe and understand how they do trade and try out yourself when you feel ready. If you seem serious I could drop the managers number and the company's site for you.
Oh, I'm not a trader. I am way too lazy! Buy and HODL for me.
Lol. Oh haven't you heard of solidfx where it's mostly for people who have little or no idea about trading or those who has no time at all. You juts invest and watch your portfolio grow.
No I haven’t. I have some of my crypto on BlockFi and Gemini earning interest, but I never heard of SolidFX before. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!
What do you do for a living?
I’m retired, living off the taxed wages of others who are still working. That’s why we moved to the Philippines, so we could live off my social (in)security payments.
Oh, where were you staying before moving over to the Philippines?
We used to live in the USA.
Why? Like i mean I've got alot of Philippines texting me and telling me how America is the dream, but yours is different why? It's like an irony of a dream.
Because I am retired, and we are living on my social (in)security. I could not have retired had we stayed in the USA. We've only been here since February. Will we stay here longer, and if so, how long? I don't know. Covid has already messed up most of our travel plans.
What was your travel plans?
For a start, we were going to explore the Philippines, then maybe other countries in eastern Asia. But right now it’s difficult to travel even WITHIN the Phillipines.
How? What's the cause of this?
Covid19, allegedly.
Oh... I'm sorry about that.
That sounds like some procastination 🤔
Guilty as charged!
Oh yes, and what does the defendant has to say about it 😅
Time for a nap? Or ..... Hey, look! A squirrel!
Lol. Ain't buying that😅
Yeah, but what you don't realize is my wife can demand I stop playing on the internet and attend to whatever household chore she is fixated on at the moment, as she did this morning.
Lol. So your wife has the upper hands that you do not?
Absolutely! I sometimes bitch and moan about her decisions, but ultimately her decisions stand. For example, why do you think we are living out here in the midst of mud, pigs, and carabaos? Do you think it was my choice to move to her family farm and live in her mama's house?
Lol. Well I see here that you love her Soo much but for me that's way off limit.
Try again😂
But seriously, check it out now the starting package is about $300 I think, is that too much for you?
Are you referring to: https://www.solid-fx.com/ ? They seem to be oriented more towards institutional investors. $300 should not be a lot of money for us, but every month we seem to spend too much and by month's end are struggling for pennies, (or, since we're in the Philippines, pesos).
Yes I am referring to them. Institutional investors are known to improve price discovery, increase allocative efficiency, and promote management accountability. They aggregate the capital that businesses need to grow, and provide trading markets with liquidity – the lifeblood of our capital markets. So yes it's definitely the best and that's why I think you definitely need this to break out from the struggling, besides $300 bucks shouldn't stop you from financial freedom.
Mining is useful but could be Soo.... Time-consuming
Good morning OldBastard, it's the first time I'm reading about it!
blessed afternoon sir
