Back From Church! Wow! That was a long hour and a half! What got in the preacher today that he was "inspired" to talk so long? Since we, (my wife, actually), are a Seventh Day Adventist family, we attend religious services on Saturday. We go to a small church near the closest small town. It's an open air church, so it is hot. The benches are hard and stiff. I have yet to find a sitting position I can relax comfortably in. And most of the service, and especially the sermon, are in Bisaya. I don't understand a word of Bisaya. So there I sit, in a hot church, on a hard bench, listening to some guy go, "Blah. Blah, blah blah-blah. Blah! Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah," for an hour or more. It's monotonous, uncomfortable, and insanely boring. But I love my wife, so I accompany her to church. Meanwhile, back home, my brother-in-law is seated in front of the TV, watching the NBA playoffs. I believe this is my penance for not attending worship services for a large part of my adult life. This changed once I met my wife. Now I am making up for lost time, where I like it or not! God works in wondrous ways.
