Sorrow We had started out with four puppies. One got sick and died a few months ago, and then we had three. Until today. Two days ago one of the puppies, a beautiful brown/black male, killed and ate a chicken. I had a bad feeling that, once he got a taste for the birds, he would continue to kill them. That is what has happened. He has killed and partially eaten four more, along with numerous chicks. (Lola had twenty chicks at the beginning of the week; now she only has eight.) We can't have this dog killing and eating our our chickens, or, worse yet, the other dogs realizing what he was doing, and starting to also eat chickens. So today we had to make the difficult decision to kill him. He was shot twice, then bludgeoned on the head to put him out of his suffering. It's a sad day. That was a nice, friendly dog, but he was just too aggressive. We have to remember that dogs are a domesticated animal, and like all domesticated animals they have to be culled to retain their "training". Goodbye Brownie. Rest in peace.

So sorry OldBastard :( I wish you didn't have to do such thing :(
Yeah, it was awful! I still feel very bad about it. That dog was just born in the wrong place. He would have been a good pet for someone in a city, or back in the USA where people do not keep chickens in their yards. :-(
That so sad news, brownie now is travelling and playing in its proper place
Yep. Hunting chickens to his heart's content, and being the wonderful dog he was supposed to be, but in a different place and time.
