This is a bicycle disk brake in colorful silhouette—and surprisingly, it also strongly resembles the silhouette of the iris of a camera lens! Nikon Z7 | F-Mount Adapter FTZ | AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED |

It’s not the holidays without the beautiful bokeh of twinkling lights Electric light bulb Pairing the Z 7II with the NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 S was Manny’s choice to capture this low light scene with beautifully blurred bokeh and ultra-high-res clarity!

@Obong

For this astro shot, I had to set focus before it became dark, mounted my camera on a tripod and captured the night sky over Santa Barbara. Gear details: Z 6 + Mount Adapter FTZ + AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED

Enjoying the sunshine, no matter the season ☀ As a lifestyle & hobby photographer, I love to travel, taking cityscapes and landscapes along the way. On the beach for a hot, sunny day, I captured these photos with the Z fc and NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR

@Obong

Beautiful cloud structures over Juno Beach create a great opportunity for long exposure. Shot with my Nikon Z 7II & NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S wide-angle lens, using 15 stops of neutral density to stretch the clouds, soften ocean waves creating a tranquil image.

@Obong

Happy New Year! This was the last sunrise of 2021. I love the peacefulness of the colors, and calmness of the ocean. I hope the New Year continues with brightness on the horizon! Thank you for your kindness, support, and friendship throughout the year!

The first light illuminated the center of the flower, the second filled the shadows, and the third illuminated the petals from behind. Nikon D850 | AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED | 1/3 second @ f/32 |

A cloudy sunrise and waves rushing along the rocky shore made for a interesting composition. A shutter speed of two seconds illustrates patterns with the receding waves. Expressive clouds made for great overall shooting conditions with my Nikon Z9.

Swan and colorful reflections at beautiful Lake Eola Park in Orlando. Photographed with my Nikon Z9, FTZII adaptor, and NIKKOR 500 PF lens.

@Obong

These are common metallic items photographed at life-size, or 1:1 to reveal details and textures that the naked eye could never see. Recognize them?

@Obong

The only way to shoot a deer 🦌 Be kind!

@Obong

The photography method being employed here is called dark field photography and its simplicity lends itself well to glass. Dark field photography strips everything away until all that’s left is form and light. Shot with Nikon D850 |

@Obong

Knives out- a red-tailed hawk grooms while hunting perched in a dead cottonwood tree along the Umpqua River in SW Oregon. Shot with Nikon Z6II and crazy sharp AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens #wildlifephotography

@Obong

You don’t realize how difficult macro photography is until you are doing it From staying still, to technical aspect and don’t get me started on composition searching

@Obong

Ducks in a row… I enjoyed photographing these cute ducklings from a low angle to softly blur the foreground and background elements. Photographed with the Nikon Z9 and NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF lens. Have a wonderful weekend!

@Obong

As we arrived in Munds park we passed this frozen pond. I knew I had to capture it. Of course the last day of the trip is when the light was just right.

@Obong

We woke up to a few inches of fresh snow and below freezing temperatures. When the sun came out and hit the trees it not only created magnificent lighting but steam began emanating from the trees. What an incredible experience

@Obong

Sometimes all you need to do is step outside for inspiration Where do you find inspiration?

@Obong

Do you post just one style of photography on you social media platforms? I generally post just landscape/night sky BUT I’ve really gotten into macro photography. Scared to post them

@Obong

Fall foliage from Kyoto a few years ago, I'm looking forward to seeing fall color this year! Photographed with my Nikon D810 and NIKKOR 28-300mm lens.

@Obong

Warm morning light and colorful reflections created a great opportunity to photograph this duck at Bear Lake, Colorado. Shot with my Nikon Z 6II and NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S lens close to water level to capture the duck with the beautiful reflections.

Geometry wasn’t a favorite subject in school, but it IS a favorite camera subject! A glass bowl, with a prismatic background, illuminated by a single source of light. Nikon Z 7II | Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S | 1/20 @ f/8 |

I asked Rich to hold his beard and then pet it like Dr Evil petting his cat lol. My Nikon Z9 was on a tripod, my focus on auto Area AF and my aperture at f1.2 (50mm) It nailed focus even with him moving whilst he was laughing.

@Obong

I'm not at the centre of Pisa. . Which of you is one of those who take the classic photo that supports the tower? Picture taken with my Smartphone

@Obong

I like to find areas that are hyper-rich in color and search for photographic opportunities. A simple subject like this ibis becomes almost magical in the right conditions. Photographed with my Nikon Z 9, FTZII adapter, and AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF lens.

@Obong

A few Snowflakes photos I took today in Proctorville, OH shot using my NikonUSA Z 7II w/ a MC 50 f 2.8 lens and extension tube attached!

@Obong

Such a powerful photographer. The legend on the wall behind him pretty much sums it up.

The Real Deal: Field Notes from the Life of a Working Photographer. Charlie Gabriel of the famed Preservation Hall Band. A legendary saxophonist and clarinetist, he has an amazing amount of history playing at that revered hall of music in New Orleans. For the story with Charlie’s picture I discuss the wonderful, nagging, gnawing, active, desperate, mind and memory of a photog. And how those memories of something you saw, something you missed, compels you to go back and get…

Put up a banner over on FB, harking back to a riff on the Winter Olympics I shot in 98. Cold is upon us in the Northeast, and the Winter Games are coming soon. I asked fearless and phenomenal skier Donna Weinbrecht to get out there on the ledge as if the Empire State Building was just another slope. In keeping with the philosophy of not asking a photo subject to do what I wouldn’t do, I had to get out there with her. Fun shoot, still memorable for me.

@Obong

This was photographed a few years ago in Český Krumlov, a beautiful city with amazing architecture in the Czech Republic. I love traveling and meeting such wonderful people! Window light created a great opportunity for a photograph.

@Obong

I love exploring the world in more detail, it’s always fascinating to see the world through a macro lens! I get lost in the moments of seeing how beautiful things are so close up. Photographed with my new NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S macro lens & Nikon Z 7II.

Ballerinas dancing along the Malecón during one of my last travels to Cuba. Everything happens along the Malecón, the go-to place in Havana. This was photographed with my Nikon D5 and NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 mid-range zoom, perfect for travel.

Shape, texture, and color in the form of a beautiful flower. Nikon Z 9 | Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S | 5500K White Balance | ISO 200 | 1/80 @ f/3.2

@Obong

The soft petals of this flower provide a lovely frame for the even more delicate inner textures that are concealed inside. Nikon Z 9 | Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S | 5500K White Balance | ISO 200 | 1/30 @ f/4.5

@Obong

ordinary subject—like this brush used to clean a barbecue grill—requires looking with new eyes to find the image that might be hiding. Nikon Z 9 | Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S

@Obong

One of the most satisfying challenges is to photograph a common subject in a way that conceals what the subject might be—such as this wire brush used to clean a barbecue grill. Nikon Z 7II | Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S

@Obong

If we could soar through the sky alongside this tulip tree moth, I can only imagine the spectacular view and the quiet solitude. Nikon Z7 | F-Mount Adapter FTZ | AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED | 1/160 @ f/5.6

@Obong

The wonderful presence of @chelseavaughn_ in front of the lens, resplendent in beautiful color. Bit of backlight, bit of smoke, bit of gels, all swirled together. Her beautifully calm look stitches together everything—hair, makeup, styling, lighting. She is the center of gravity for the scene. Experiment with gels and color, no logic required!

@Obong

I had fun shooting this lovely model for MAC in the Middle East some years back, working in the studio with a wonderful array of talented folks. Simple shoot, fun day.
