Remember that paper chromatography we all were taught in elem and high school science classes? well they're actually applied in a formal lab setting. Chromatography is a technique to separate components. in paper chromatography, it's used to separate colored components. in this case we had candy samples and we get the color by melting the candy and concentrating it into a form of pigment using wool and a few acids. so those are your candy colors and there's at least 5 banned food colorants here in my country 😂 and i actually saw those in some candies
