💠💠Infectious Disease: A clinically manifest disease of man or animals resulting from infection. আর Infection means the entry & development or multiplication of an infectious agent in the body of man or animals. অর্থাৎ মানুষ বা প্রাণির দেহে কোনো সংক্রমণক্ষমতা সম্পন্ন অণুজীব প্রবেশ করে বংশবিস্তার করা হল infection আর এই infection এর জন্য যে disease এর clinical manifestation পর্যবেক্ষণ করা যায় তাই infectious disease.

📌এই infectious disease গুলো virus, bacteria, fungi ইত্যাদি অণুজীব দিয়ে হয় এই infectious agent গুলো কে আশ্রয় দেয় host. অর্থাৎ 🔘Host: A person or other animal, including birds & arthropods that affords subsistence or lodgements to an infectious agent under natural conditions. 📌Obligate host - একটিমাত্র host থাকে Man in measles & typhoid fever. 📌Primary /Definitive host - যার মধ্যে parasite sexual stage passকরে mature হয় 📌Secondary /Intermediate host - parasite যার মধ্যে larval or asexual stage pass করে। malaria র ক্ষেত্রে মানুষ intermediate host 📌Transport host- যার মধ্যে organism জীবিত থাকে কিন্তু multiplication করতে পারে না। পরবর্তীতে এই infectious agent গুলোকে susceptible individual এ নিয়ে যায় vector

🔘Vector Vector is defined as an arthropod or any living carrier that transports an infectious agent to susceptible individual. 📌📌Some related terms: 🔘Contagious Disease A disease that is transmitted through contact Example : Scabies, Trachoma, STD, leprosy 🔘Nosocomial Infection It is an infection originating in patient while in a hospital or other health care facility . patient যখন হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয় তখন তার মধ্যে primary condition ছাড়া নতুন কোনো রোগ ছিল না কিন্তু পরে primary condition ছাড়াও নতুন সমস্যা দেখা যায় Example : surgical wounds, hepatitis B, urinary tract infection 📌it is known as hospital acquired infection 🔘Opportunistic Infection This is infection by an organism that takes the opportunity provided by a defect in host defence to infect the host & hence cause disease. Host এ কোনো defect থাকলে host organismকে defend করতে পারে না। Organisms are: ➡Cytomegalovirus ➡Toxoplasma ➡M.tuberculosis ➡M.avium intracellulare ➡Pneumocystis 📌AIDS এ সবচেয়ে বেশি opportunistic infection হয়
