In Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) my husband and I visited the Gapar Aitiyev Museum of Fine Arts. We saw a lot of interesting things, but this sculpture touched my heart the most. I remembered a poem by an unknown author. I will not be able to translate it from Russian into English without losing the power and beauty of the words, so I will retell it in prose. An old man and a blind old woman were walking through the hot desert, exhausted from thirst and fatigue. And suddenly the old man saw a beautiful oasis. A clerk stood near the gate, dressed to the nines, but with an evil grin. - Where are we? Can we come in and get some rest? - the old man asked. - This is Heaven, old man. Come in, but leave your old woman at the gate. The old man said to his wife: - Come on, honey, it's a mirage. Nothing, we will come to a spring water soon. And the road led them to a simple house. The owner greeted the guests warmly, gave them water, gave them bread and put them to bed. - Sleep well, - he said – you are in Paradise. Since you haven't left your old woman, I give you an Eternal Kingdom for two. Those who have betrayed their own are not allowed to enter Paradise.

Beautiful story.. i love it.. we should never leave our loved ones.. just to save ourselves
Thank you, sis❤️
That is such an inspiring and moving story! 🥺 I hope that all married couples would think like the old man! He never left his wife’s side, even despite her being blind. In sickness and in health they were together. And what’s so special is, even in death, they did not part. ♥️
Yes, you said that quite correctly.. I would add such a poem to the literature program for high school, so that young couples understand that they can expect not only joy, but also trials in life, and that they are ready to overcome them and remain faithful to each other. Thank you forvyour comment❤️
