Back to the Past: Childhood Games I previously posted here about traditional Filipino games, and I've decided to share some of my childhood games. 1. Spider Fight: My friends are always catching spiders and fighting with them. To fight each other, you'll need a stick and two spiders. This is a Dead or Alive battle unless it will stop by the owners. 2. Sumpak the Kawayan: This is made of a small bamboo pipe, the piston (pamputok) is a bamboo insert with wood and the bullet is wet paper. 3. Pellet Gun: This is one of the dangerous or lethal toys, and it resembles a real gun with a plastic rounded bullet. 4. Piko: Also known as hopscotch, this is a group game that requires chalk to draw the piko gameboard line and a pamato. 5. BangSak (Police and Killer Game): The Taya is holding the guns (hand gesture), and the other players are holding knives (All hands gestures). It's similar to hide and seek in that Taya looks at the other players and shoots them. 6. Tom Sawyer Game: If you've ever seen the cartoon "Tom Sawyer," you'll know that it was inspired by this game. There are two teams, one building a bridge and the other destroying it by jumping off on their back. 7. Dampa: It uses a rubber band and must move it to another rubber band by forming a cup with one hand and slapping it on the ground. 8. Apir Games (Hand-Clapping): Several apir games use the hands, such as Nanay tatay and Apir and disapir. Other Games: 9. Bola Batok 10. Hanapan Tingting 11.
