All Tucked Up
Dotty was taking a pup nap on the sofa last week when one of the cushions fell over and landed on her, she didn’t mind one bit as you can see as it made a cover for her. She lay there quite content for a good thirty minutes to an hour catching up on her beauty sleep before hopping off the sofa and finding someone to play fetch with.
Looking Up
One of the things you just can’t help doing while in New York is look up, it’s so strange being surrounded by so many massive skyscrapers. Looking up at the blue sky and fluffy white clouds above Manhattan is so cool, there’s just so much to see all around you in the concrete jungle that is this city.
Saint Patrick’s Cathedral
On route to grand central station we walked past Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, which is a stunning building. It’s so strange to find such a old and pretty building surrounded by skyscrapers, it’s a very unique building and such an architectural wonder in a very busy city, well with a visit if you are in Manhattan.
Strolling through Grand Central Station
We decided to visit grand central station for our first trip out in New York to recreate the photo of Sophie and Lily walking through the main concourse, which we originally took six years ago when they were 7 and 8. We then went down to the food court for some pizza and a drink. This was enough for our first night in New York after a seven hour flight, day two is a trip to the world trade centre and the 9/11 museum.
Up up in the air
We got of the ground a little later than scheduled but the flight was nice and smooth and we landed forty minutes ahead of schedule which was great. We got lucky with US immigration and we’re through really quickly and our bags were quick too. For our first flight since the covid pandemic it went really well. Only glitch we had was with the transfer to the hotel as the pick up area was so busy our driver had to move from the agreed space and it too a while to find him, but other than that it was a good journey to New York and now the adventures begin.
Vacation Time
We are at Heathrow just waiting for our gate to be called so we can fly off on our latest adventure. First stop on this trip is Nee York, the big apple for four days then it’s off to Tulum Mexico for ten nights of relaxation. Keep an eye out for vacation updates as I will be posting our adventures as we go along.
I spotted this stunning flower while out walking, the pink, yellow and white make for a very pretty colour combination. We are surrounded by amazing treasures supplied by nature, we just need to slow down and take it all in.
Back Out In Nature
I love being out in nature, walking through the trees and connecting to the energy they give off. Looking up through the tree to the sun is just magical and helps me remember that when we move away from our busy lives the world is a magical place.
Some One Look Guilty
I honestly have no idea what Dotty has been up to but see sure looks very guilty for some reason. She looks rather cute when she is feeling guilty, the puppy dog eyes and cute face come out as to say please don’t tell me off I couldn’t help it lol.
Another Hot Day
It’s been another very hot day here in the United Kingdom, the sun is shining bright and there’s not a cloud in the sky. Tomorrow the temperatures are set to drop by 10 degrees centigrade so it will be a lot more enjoyable for Dotty and the rest of the family, after all dogs and the British are no good in the heat lol.
A collage of photos from the last cheer competition of the season
The 2021/22 cheer season is now finished and not what a high it finished on at future cheer on the beach in Bournemouth. Sophie’s two teams scored a second and fifth, while Lilys Tigers won their division. We had a lazing weather for the weekend meaning the girls got to enjoy the beach and sea, as well as cheer and amazing meals out. We do love our family cheer weekend away and the girls are all ready for their tryouts for the 2022/23 season so that they can enjoys lots more fun with their amazing teammates.
Keeping Cool In A Heatwave
Dotty has her own melted but cold ice block to help her keep cool as the UK is experiencing some insanely hot temperatures at the moment. I made sure it wasn’t frozen and didn’t want her getting frostbite or her tongue sticking to it, but needed her to have something cold. She also have several cooling mats dotted around the house and lots of water bowls full of very cool water to drink.
Lilys Found Her Perfect Colour Mini
We are just waiting for our Mini Countryman to have its service and MOT (uk vehicle safety check) and there are two yellow/green Mini Cooper S cars in the show room. One is a normal Mini hard top and the other is a convertible Mini. Lily has decided once she is old enough to drive she wants a mini that colour so she stands out lol, she’s a bit mad is our lily.
Hard At Work
Even on the work from home days, little miss Dotty is beside my computer helping me with my work. She’s my constant companion and fantastic company. She’s also great for when work gets stressful and I need a puppy hug, she really is the best dog ever.
It’s Sophie Turn Now
After Lily's success yesterday it’s now Sophie’s turn to perform, she is performing twice today with Pumas Junior level 2 and Venom senior level 1. Shes been so impatient today as her first performance isn’t until 5.30pm and then again at 8.40pm for the second one, and all she’s wanted to do today is get her uniform on and hit the mat.
View From The Top
That was one very very steep climbs, it was a great workout and the view is a fantastic reward. Now time for a coffee and then workout where we can go for lunch.
Heading up to the top of the cliffs above Bournemouth beach, it’s a steep climb but the view from the half way point is well worth the effort. I will share photos from the top later on today.
Final Day By The Beach
Today is the final day of competition, but Sophie isn’t competing till 4.30pm so we have another day to enjoy Bournemouth. We are starting g the day with a morning walk along the beach, the sun is shining and there’s a nice breeze keeping us cool.
Travel By Sister Lol
After awards earlier Lily decided to hitch a ride on Sophie’s back, she must have been tired lol. These two are so close as sisters, it’s really cute and we love them both and so proud of the fantastic young ladies they are becoming.
Champions
Yep that’s right Predator’s Athletic Tigers are Junior Level 1 national champions, Lily is so so happy and we are all so proud of the whole team. Their routine was excellent, they wore their hearts on the sleeves and they smashed it. We have just celebrated with fish and chips down on the beach and will be heading back to see if Tigers are supreme or grand champions in a bit.
Tigers time
Lily is all ready to hit the mat at FC on the beach here in Brighton, we’re just waiting for the coaches and then the girls will head off to warm up before hitting the mat at 3pm. They have trained so hard for today and I am sure they will put in an amazing performance.
Morning Coffee
Lily isn’t performing till this afternoon so we are having a coffee in Starbucks and then going to explore a Bournemouth. Always good to have an early morning coffee to get the brain awake before the cheer fun begins.
We’re in Bournemouth
We have now arrived in Bournemouth ready for future cheer on the beach and the sun is blazing down on us. We have spent time on the beach and in the park where Sophie decided to get some practice in by doing a few standing tucks.
Ummmm Pizza
We have headed over to the stable for some pizza and cider tonight, the stable is a pizza company in the southwest of England and they do the best pizza around. The whole family really enjoyed their pizzas and we all left very happy customers with full belly’s.
Beach Time
We have arrived safe and sound in Bournemouth, we are checked into the first room and have headed down to the beach for a walk. The weather is lovely and warm with the sun beaming down on the golden sands, Bournemouth really is the perfect location for the final cheer competition of the season.
On Route To Bournemouth
We are five miles from Bournemouth following a rather eventful drive after the Google maps took us down a load of B roads. For those who have never experienced a British B road, they are one car width in places and the locals use them as a race track, got to love a sat nab for sending you the worst route in the effort to make it faster. That said we are through the lanes and on the main road into Bournemouth ready for our final cheer competition of the season.
Countdown To Bournemouth
Lily is currently in her final training session before future cheer Bournemouth this weekend and Sophie has her final training session tomorrow night. This is the final competition of the season and the teams are putting everything into achieving the perfect performance in Bournemouth. They have been working super hard in training and we are so proud of all the predator cheerleaders. Let’s go predators, let’s go
Healthy Eating
This was so so simple to make and tasted amazing. It’s simply yellow bell pepper, red onion, bacon and egg, creating a super health and tasty scramble egg, yum.
Cheer Sisters
Sophie and Lily all ready to hit the mat at south west varsity a few weeks ago, they both did awesome with Lilys team winning their category and one of Sophie’s teams also winning. They are such awesome people and athletes, I’m on very proud cheer dad.
Woodland Sunset
Tall pine trees, a babbling brook and a stunning sunset, nature at its best and my favourite place to be. I feel so at home amongst the trees and nature, it’s so tranquil and relaxing.
