I've never been to Auschwitz, and never plan on going. Knowing what happened there would just be too depressing. However, I do think it is a good idea to keep this place as a memorial to those who died there, and as a warning to all of us that human nature has its dark side, and under the right conditions we are all capable of becoming monsters.
I’m not big into history much as I had a bad experience with the subject in school. But getting older I got into watching documentaries about World war and Hitler. Being invested into those Documentaries, I just had to go there for myself and I’m glad I did. It’s a real eye opener!
I bet! It's probably a life changing experience, if you realize what happened there.
