Just watched "Mar Adentro". It's a very touching movie and based on the real life story of a paralyzed guy. Watching the movie also helps to put our lives in perspective and appreciate the simple little things. It also reminds me of something very scary, which is that some people currently in coma are fully aware and able to hear/understand what's going on, but appeared to be entirely unresponsive. The only way to know that they are actually still there is looking at their brain waves and asking them control questions and based on the brain waves data, you can differentiate the answers. Can you imagine yourself being trapped and aware of what's going on, but unable to move or speak at all? But it's happening to some people right now. And that reminded me about some interesting brain experiments I read before. Do you know that Science can predict your decisions before you make them? They do that by studying your brain activity. Take a look at the photo of a human brain. Your brain looks something like this. https://iiif.elifesciences.org/digests/41250%2Fdigest-41250.jpg/full/617,/0/default.webp With that image in your mind, know this. This thing, about 15 cm long and weighs roughly 1.3kg. That contains everything you know, your memories, your knowledge about the world, your connections with people, your ability to speak and make sense of the Universe, everything. That's your entire world. And that's my entire world too.
